what i want to know is how do you set a scope to compensate for a 349" drop without it looking at your barell??? i just dont understand the angles that would allow you to aim high enough to compensate for this much drop and still be able to see the target in the scope. someone please explain this to me. thank you ...CARL

Its hard to change someone with a narrow mind which this post tells me yours is not.

This all dosnt guarentee me a 1000 yard P-dog but it is more likely to happen than not.

PS punch in 3150 fps allthough I wont be using this because its not as tight grouping. This one is even more impressive. Subsonic at about 1200 yrds.

    CAndres35:
Thats only 139 1/4" clicks.Or you can try 7mmnuts advice. gj.

Now,Im off to work on whiteclouders hard head!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GJ unless your scopes are way different from mine, that is over 1300 clicks at 1 click = 1/4" nearly 700 at 1 click = 1/2"

    Your calculations are wrong.
    1/4"click =s 2.5" at 1000 yards or 139 clicks.gj.

From the sublime to the ridiculous. Now, with a little of what you construe as help from another board member, you are emboldened to up the stakes. Now you say you will hit over 50 percent of those little rascals at 1000 yards. You could give bullz lessons.

So go to work on my head, but wait until you've weaseled out of the above quote. I've watched those much better at waffling than you and you can do it but it should be interesting.

    Start weaseling.

gj.I am in no way proclaming your are going to hit a pd at 1000.I am stating you have a very impressive load. You have to remember a movement of.001" at the bench, Will equal 10" at 1000yrds.This can be caused by a Angus bull pasing gas 3/4 of a mile away.

Also the correct BC for the 75 gr A-max is .382, Not .400 you gave me .If you intend to play in this relm every .001" counts big time. Another note your slower load is better in the wind by 13.2".

Remember the world record for a sporter under field conditions is 8 5/8". That means even this guy only stands a half a chance of hitting one. THIS IS ROCKET SCIENCE!!.

    Wrong again:
I dont know were your getting your info but .382 may be for the 75 gr hornady hp-match .gj.

    gj.Ok here we go

When you said A-Max,That usualy means a Swift .382is correct for a Swift.

There is a sh7t slue of 1000yrd records. The one you are talking about was shot with a 42lb rifle,From a $400 rest.I said sporter under field conditions.Learn what that means.

Now for the fun part.I spent quite amount of time geting information FOR YOU.Since you know so much ,You dont need my help partner.Get your own software , And find out why a slower bullet can be better in
    the wind.

I have a perfect record of not calling any body names here,And you ANT worth me breaking it for.I would like to say good luck to you ,But you sure dont need it.You have got all the answers.C. David Tubbs is in for trouble from you.Come to think of it,You can probley tell him how to better his one mile record.

Please dont blame me for your assumptions.
If youll go back just above the post where you thanked me for the info you will find it stated as the 75gr Hornady Amax and refered to as same several other times also.

Ive allready ran everything on Quik Loads but was interested in your programs results as a comparison.and the slower load drifts slightly more than the faster load.

If Mr tubbs and I both shot my gun/load Im sure I would look like
    sh%t next to his performance.

But Im also no slouch when it comes to shooting. S.E.I.P.S competition awards are:

    1989-2nd place rifle.
    1996-3rd place rifle.
    1998-1st place rifle.

Also my gun is in no way concidered a sporter please compare apples to apples.

Ill thank you for your views anyway.
    gj.

And I've taken prizes at the S.E.B.C.S.A as follows:

    1983 1st place rifle (sporter)
    1989 4th place pistol (centerfire)
    1993 1st place rifle (sporter)
    1993 2nd place rifle (under 15 #)
    1999 1st place rifle (under 15 #)
    1999 1st place rifle (sporter)
    2000 1st place rifle (over 15 #)
    2000 1st place rifle (sporter)
    2001 didn't compete.

Does that make me the expert. Not hardly.

Now 'Clouder, he has saved me a lot of money.

I have taken my almost completed 300 mag and thrashed it and I am trading my 30-378 on for a Savage 223.

I do not need those highly refined rifles to shoot 1,000 yards.

All I need is a stock Savage with a trigger.

And all this time I've been wasting my time on 1 inch+ barrels and all that junk.

Anybody need a good deal on 850-1400 $$ junk scopes?
