I am going turkey hunting in a couple weeks. I have always hunted with my dad, but this year my dad is hunting with a friend, and I am partnering with my cousin. Neither him nor I have a call or are very familiar with them. My dad always called them in for me in the past. Any ideas on which call is the best for someone without much experience calling, and that has little time to practice with one?

Head to Wally world fast, they sell instructional videos on mouth calls. Also get a crow call or a gobble tube to locate the birds. Once you find them set up and pop in your mouth call and go to work. Quaker boy makes a very easy to use call and sounds good. Boss hen is the choice. You want to use the mouth call so that when you have the gun up the old geezer won't see you move when you call. Slate calls and box calls are good but there is WAY to much movement whe you are working a bird in for the shot. You should know by now that a turkey has excellent eyesight and can detect the slightest movement and be gone in a hurry!

7mm is right about the mouth calls, But it can take some folks years to learn. The pump is the fastest way.If you follow the instructions. The only thing the tukey will see moving, Is your shot charge.
