I've got to go with 1)the vise grip 2) can opener. Kruschev said it took until the space age to invent one that works. The G.I. c-ration can opener was pretty novel too.

As a carpenter the tool I've used the most out of the many I have the last five years is my Dewalt 18volt cordless drill. I'm on my third one.

Dave you just reminded me, the DREMEL, hands down, challenge that one, come on, bring it on, bring it on, no one can beat that one!!!You can open cans, cut off stuck bolts the vise grip cant get off, sand down the rough edges the leatherman and gerber leave behind, it does it all, WHOS THE MAN? WHOS THE MAN?

a few come to mind...FIREARMS!!! LEATHERMAN...and the old ....FENCEING TOOL! I take my fenceing tool on every outdoor adventure i go on...and i mean adventure! Man i have lost track of the broken,disslocated bones, cuts..and worse accident was a severe closed head injury(ok, I hear ya'll."well that explains a lot about the way RUGERNUT..." you can hammer, smack, pry,pull, cut, knock holes in metal with the curved pointed end...use for pliers..just about the most useful tool happening...even run some fencein with it!!
