Should I have hit him?

I was driving out of a shopping center with my utility trailer yesterday, down a one way alley that deposits you onto the westbound lanes of a U S hwy. town police station is in the shopping center and Golden Corral is across the hwy. This little city cop come blazing across the hwy and up the wrong way in the alley, just after lunchtime and it was all I could do not to hit him with my truck or trailer. My window was down and I called him a few choice words but he was too chickens*** to do anything but stare ahead and keep going. Well, the more I think about it, the madder I get, if I had done this he darn sure would have busted me. I thought about calling his supervisor, but what good would it do?, I feel like I should have taken the front and/or side out of the cruiser, and probably will next time- all this so he doesn't have to make a trip around the block! I don't think all cops are bad, but it's the typical attitude that gets me. What do y'all think?-Ralph

How do you know the reason he was going the wrong way? Could it be he was rushing to help someone?

He could have been on a call, but should have been a little more careful. You could have been charged with agressive driving and along with that you have to deal with your insurance, insurance rates, report filing, lawyers, fines ect. and I think this would have ruined your day for months. You did the right thing.

If he was rushing to help someone or on a call then he should have had his lights on. I think its to the point where average citizens need video cameras in thier cars just like the cops have, then you could send a copy of deputy dog racing to the Krispy cream shop to the mayors office and the 5oclock news, they love that kind of stuff.
You just have to be smarter than what you are working with.....Lazy

He wasn't on his way anywhere but back to the station after lunch, and the alley we're talking about is 1-1 1/2 cars wide max, so I wouldn't have to swerve to hit him, I had to swerve NOT to -Ralph
