Any on this board into them?
I have always had an interest but never bit the bullet.
How hard and how useful is it to know how to use one to transmit?
Also, if I just wanted one to listen to broad casts what you recommend?

I've got a shortwave. I've not turned in on in years... in fact I was thinking about E-Baying it.
Read a study guide for a week and you can pass it.
You can talk world wide via interlink & repeaters @ 50watts. 2m=144mhz,70cm=440mhz,50mhz,1ghz including slow scan TV broadcasting
Radios run from $150up for single band, or $300up for a dual bander.
