You neet to contact the State Insurance Board in the state you live and file a complaint. Insurance companies have to answer to the State Board and they set a lot of the parameters on coverage that companies have to adhere to. You might even have grounds for a discrimination lawsuit. Have they dropped insurance coverage on places like police departments? What about armed security guards or banks that hire armed security guards or armed escort services?Sounds like BS to me. When it comes to insurance companies they will try to get away with whatever they can, including breaking the law, when they go unchallenged. The one thing they don't like is bad publicity, it cuts into their pockets too deep. Don't just push back, shove.

Talk about profiling! Thought that this violated our civil rights? My insurance company is Florida Farm Bureau Insurance Company for homeowner, auto, liability and workers compensation. I recently asked my agent what relationship my ownership of guns had on my relationship with his comapany. His response was make sure they are insured adequately in case of theft.

I asked my agent about cancellations and was told that here (in West-by-God) they'd better have a real good reason for cancelling. I won't list the ones he mentioned except to say that owning guns wasn't one of them. He said they don't HAVE to renew when it come due and they can refuse to renew for many reasons. Some of them pretty lame. Contact your State's insurance regulatory body and tell them the story.Mudge
Anyone who CAN carry, SHOULD carry!Let me update that.Anyone who CAN carry, BETTER carry.

My insurance company cancelled my son's car insurance. Reason given: UNEMPLOYED. I took the cancellation notice to the State Insurance Commissioner. The deputy read it and said to me "this is a joke isn't it, you're pulling my leg?" I said no. He got on the phone and contacted an officer of the insurance company. His dialog went something like this, " I want a notice of re-instatement of this policy in this man's mail box by four o'clock tomorrow afternoon. If it is not there I am going to come down on you for misuse of authority." Needless to say the re-instatement was there the next day. I agree that you should take this to your state's Insurance Commissioner.
