I love this site - it's great if you dream about owning your own place someday:

I think Argentina. The 10,000 dove per week hunts could keep me busy. 30 acres and a nice house for 46,000 ain't to bad either.

2 ponds and 200+ acres is what I hope to have before it's all over with. what I got now isn't enough.

Well Mrs njretcop and I just purchased another lot here in Joisey.

Ya'll welcome to come and hunt or camp on it anytime ya want.

Don't bring too much gear though, ya see it's only 3' x 9' and double deep.[xx(][xx(][xx(]

Not any more. My wife and I worked our butts off for 30 years and did without a big house, new cars, boats, expensive vacations, fancy hunting trips, tickets to the Cowboy games, and a host of other things. Then one day, we walked away from work and bought the land we dreamed of owning--the Rafter-S Ranch.

Too bad we couldn't have had rich relative that could have left it to us...but we probably wouldn't appreciate it near as much. We had to make our dream happen.

Grandpa came here from what was once Macedonia where his family raised horses. Got to North Dakota and homesteaded and built a nice spread. Was my dream from the first time I smelled green grass and wild flowers.

Like Grandpa nothing was given to me, I have worked myself to the bone and I own land. Some by myself but my nicest piece with three other guys -- badlands, river bottom, woods, and wildlife.

    Nothing good comes easy.

"A strong body makes the mind strong. As to the species of exercises, I
advise the gun. While this gives moderate exercise to the body, it gives
boldness, enterprise, and independence to the mind. Games played with the
ball and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no
character on the mind. Let your gun therefore be the constant companion of
    your walks." Thomas Jefferson

For my first 8 years of my career I put my nose to the grindstone, worked extremely hard and smart, and was able to make some things happen. Saved enough to purchase free and clear 170+ acres in Otsego county New York. Best thing I have ever done, by far.

If the land would pay for the taxes yea. Miss a payment and you'll soon find you never owned it to began with.
And as long as I don't have to mow it!
