Indiana, Ohio, & Illinois gun shops?....

Headed for Indiana, Ohio, and Illinois for a few days on business....any recommendations of some nice gun shops in the area?

    Where in Ohio?
    My two local picks would be New Albany (You know of) and Vances shooters supply 3723 Cleveland ave. Columbus.(Corner of cooke rd and cleveland)

    Believe it or not, as anti-gun as Illinois is, there are one or two shops in the greater Chicago area that are outstanding in terms of variety and numbers of guns.

    Best I've come across is Smoke 'N' Guns on Washington Street in Waukegan, just east of the intersection of Washington and Green Bay Road. Best selection of .45's I've ever seen with Kimbers especially well-represented. Excellent gunsmith on premises and very friendly and helpful staff. Always something unusual on the rack. Had a custom .501 Nyoti (sp?) on the rack last week and a beautiful Sporting Mauser in .338 with a Zeiss 3x9 on top.

    Other option is G.A.T. Guns on Rte 25 in Carpentersville south of Rte 72 by about 3/4 of a mile. Indoor pistol range (very pricey in my opinion - $11.00 an hour) and an archery range as well. Nice selection of firearms but almost all of it is new and nothing very esoteric. Strictly business type atmosphere.

    If your up on the WI IL boarder, stop and see Paul and Sam at the Outdoorsman sports shop, 221 Sheridan Rd. in Winthrop Harbor IL. THey have a great pistol range and good service. Let me know if your gonna stop in there and i will meet up to say hi.
