Here in Seattle on business this week....going to the top of the Space Needle for supper this evening. Anyone ever eaten there? Need suggestions for other dining spots in the area to entertain clients.

Been there few times. Also try The Metropolitin Grill and Ruths Steak House in downtown Seattle. For my favorite steak dinner you would have to travel to Burien about 15 minutes S.W. of Seattle, But its Angelo's Italian Restaruant. They make the best Italian Steak I have ever eaten.[:D][:0]Now my mouth is watering.

F.X. McRory's is a great place to eat and drink.

Ivar's Salmon House on Lake Union is still good. At least, it was when I was there two years ago. Good food and if you get a window seat you can watch the boats go by on Lake Union.
It's in the University District under the I-5 bridge that goes over Lake Union. There's always Ivar's downtown on the wharf too, but it's usually much more difficult to get seating there (and more expensive).
Ivar's is a Seattle institution. Has been since at least the 40s. When in Seattle, I always drop by Ivar's for a good bowl of Manhattan Clam Chowder and fried oysters. Mmmmmmmmm

Want to make a good impression? Check out the waterfront down in Tacoma. It's a nice little scenic spot with a few restaurants along the way. A couple good seafood places AND there's another restaurant called "The Ram" where they brew their own beer! It's DARN GOOD beer! They will bring you shot glass samples of their beers so you can decide which one(s) you want to order. It's more of a college environment so I'm not sure what type of setting you are looking for. There's also a lobster place on that little strip. I think it's called "The Lobster House" or something like that. 16-oz Australian Rock Lobster dinner for $50. Good eatin' if you're trying to celebrate or impress. However, that's a bit of a drive from Seattle. Check out "The Ram" after dinner if you are looking for a good place to have a beer after dinner. There's probably one in Seattle. There will be some eye-candy walking around too. I've met everyone there from college students to med-school students to business owners. I got offered a job there while I was stationed at Fort Lewis and I'm not talking about a job at the bar.

    Ruths Chris Steakhouse or Ivars.
At least those are two of my favorites.
My experience at The Space Needle was, too much money for an OK meal.
But, the view is pretty hard to beat.

stanman--Depending on what time of the day/year you go you COULD be forced to wade through non-bathing, dredlocked, pot-smoking, tie-died, rastafarian, hackey-sack/devil-stick playing dead-beats. [:D]

I think they were having their annual marijuana festival the last time I was at the Space Needle.

I ate my first and only Grilled Tuna Taco in Seattle back in 1997. Tasty!

Space Needle view was great, clear skies and a nice view of Mt Rainier....went to Hooters afterwards, it was disgusting, bearded guys dressed in drag skimpy Hooters girls outfits (Halloween costumes...I hope?) with BIGGG Balloons! [:D]

Ivars is on my short list...I'll let you know how it was.

I think those are the same ones who are so fearful of Bush re-instating the draft ,,,,,,, like anybody would want them!!

So Rembrandt,,,,, We all KNEW the view was good, but, I didn't hear you say how the meal was????

    Rembrandt:

If you get out there again visit the Royal Palm Thai restaurant. I usually don't recommend a place to eat but this place is outstanding. If the owner is there, a woman, and she usually is, she will make you very welcome.

Tell her that her Idaho connection sent you.

Having ate at the Revolving Tower Skylon in Niagara Fall Ontario and the one in Las Vegas,I would suggest a person pay 6 or 8 dollars for the view and eat elsewhere.

    1-Powder
    2-Patch
    3-Ball
    4-Remove the Rod
    5-Do Not Forget the Cap.

Wow!....went to Ivar's tonight, Clam chowder, Alaskan Crab Legs, followed by cheese cake....fantastic food, thanks for the recomendation. Needed to walk back up those hills for some exercise instead of taking a cab.

Clouder, I've got a few days left out here, hope to check the Royal Palms before heading home.
