Ever attended an exhibition trick shooting demo?

Buffalo Bill Cody probably started the exhibition trick shooting shows with the likes of Anne Oakley and others....but have you ever attended one yourself?

I've had the good fortune to see John Saterwhite do some amazing things with a 1911 on arial shots...later found out he uses shot cartridges when doing this. Single projectiles flying thru the sky were a bit dangerous. Saterwhite is also pretty good with a shotgun.

Saw Texan Joe Bowman do some amazing single action quick draw work. He uses Ruger single actions that have been specially modified.

Olympic Gold Medal trap shooter Kimberly Rhode and her father put on a good show with shotguns. She hangs upside down with her legs over her fathers shoulders and shoots arial targets. Very impressive young lady who has mastered the shotgun.

Where did you see this at? Sounds interesting to say the least. Do these people tour the country and put on shows?

Pa, the ones I've seen were in conjunction with some celebrity get togethers. Saterwhite, Bowman and Rhode were part of the entertainment at a sportsmans political rally.

Many do exhibitions for corporate retreats and trade shows. Bob Munden has done appearances at the shot show.

I saw Duncan Renaldo (the Cisco Kid) do a show at the county fair here when I was quite young. He was pretty good, if I recall, aerial shots from horseback! I would have to think now that he was using shot, but still impressive. Had a well-trained horse too.

Pic below was taken after the show; my sister and I.

The other pic is of a piece of "bullet art". Inscription says "To Don Campbell from Ernie Lind 7/26/70 shot with a Winchester" I got it from Campbell's nephew.

    Nice pictures Redcedars!

Bob Munden has a video tape that is a "must see".....they illustrate how fast he really is with a stop clock and slow motion video. Six shots with a single action in under a fraction of a second. So fast it sounds like one shot went off.

Also have a tape of Herb Parson's called "Showman Shooter", made in the late fifties. Parson's was trick shooter for Winchester....most amazing shooting was him taking a stack of 7 clay targets, throwing them in the air, and breaking each one with a seperate shot from a model 12 pump before they hit the ground....I've seen guys do this with a semi-auto, but none with a pump.

He would also shoot watermelons full of dynamite....ATF wouldn't approve of that today.

Using a .22 cal pump he would eject the empty hull into the air and shoot it with the next round...and keep repeating this until the magazine was empty.

Met a man at a gun show from Ill. who swore he could have anyone breaking clays with a .22 rifle in one day. He uses 10-22s with shotgun sights. Can't remember his name. Anyone?

I met a guy who said the same thing....he would start a person out with a BB gun and a tin pie pan. After the shooter began hitting the pan consistantly the target was changed to a 6" metal disc....then later went down to using half dollars. Before long the shooter was hitting quarters on a regular basis.

I did try rifle shooting targets over my shoulder with a mirror once....easier than I thought. Simply sight alignment like one would normally expect.
