Idsman and I went to Des Moines this evening to see Charlton Heston, just happened to bring along a Cherry colored laminated HB 10/22 gunstock I've been working on and recently stained.....thought he would just sign it, but he inscribed a little personal note along with the signiture. Writing is silver against the reddish wood background....now just need to spray a clear urethane to protect the signiture...this one will have a special place in the safe....

Actually reads...."To _ _ _ _ _ _ ...Charlton Heston". All I wanted was just his autograph, but this is nice, it makes it a bit more personal.

Now if you could get him to sign my walking staff, I bet I could part the Sabine river.

Rembrandt.I would not do this for just anyone, But if you send it to me, I will check it out to make sure it was "Chuck" that signed it.

    Just think Rembrandt -
Sometime in the distant future, when history has been re-written so many times "we" would no longer recognize it as "our" history, your descendants could believe that little 10-22 was handed down to you from Moses ...

    Varmit Hunter,
I'd send it to you, but those clumsy UPS people might loose it....now where did I put that phone number for Lloyds of London, need to get this insured....

    Kimber,
You're right, the way history is rewritten today anything is possible...

For those that would like to "borrow" it, I'm reminded of what Chuck has said on numerous occassions...."from my cold dead hands".....nobody's getting this one!

Now thats something to pass down to the grandchildren! I'd love to have chuckie sighn one of my hand-built muzzleloaders... it would be the pride of the gun cabinet!

Though I was born to royalty, I was snatched at birth, so treat me as the noble I am!!!

Saw a young boy once with a baseball bat with lots of major league players signitures, sort of gave me the idea to do the same thing with a gun stock.

Not sure if I should keep collecting more autographs on the same stock or get a different piece of wood for each celebrity.....
