    I spent a little time at the stumps myself Will. I was with 3rd tracks with Delta Co. If you go west from Palms to I-5, turn north and about 10 miles from the Oregon border make a left onto State Route 96, drive about 70 miles and you'll find the town of Happy Camp. Mountains covered by big fir and pine forests, year round streams and rivers, pretty rough living. If you've ever been to south western Montana you'd feel right at home here, other than the gun laws. The salmon and steelhead are just beginning the fall run, Deer and Bear season are open right now, The sky is thick with smoke from a few forest fires but the first rains will douse them. If you ever get a chance to make it up this way email me and I'll set aside a day for a trip in the drift boat for some steelhead fishing. bobgoodwin@sisqtel.net

    I will do everthing I can to try to get up there. You was a tracker? What in the world do ya'll have against apricots? Anyway, they got me for hunting this year cause I got to go to the staff academy, but fishing sounds good. Do I need a flyrod for steelhead? I don't have any idea how to use one.     A fly rod is nice in the fall but as the winter progresses and the water turns cold, a decent 6 1/2 -7' medium weight spinning outfit will work fine. Never and I mean don't ever bring apricots around a tracker, I never was able to track the source of that one down but it's been around a while. An old wives tale spread by young men. I went to the NCO academy there, you might see my name on a plaque as the honor graduate back in 1986 or 87, (Sgt. Robert Goodwin Delta Co 3rd AAV's). Good luck with the Staff Academy. Whats your moniker on the email? I usually delete all the spammer C rap and names I don't recognize before reading it. Cuts down on the virus' stuff. Semper Fi.
