How bad NBC sucks!

I walked in on my kids watching the gameshow "Dog Eat Dog" and seen a nude girl throwing a football thru a hole. What a bunch of sh%t. If this is what NBC think's it has to do to get watchers, I think they missed their guess. That was bad. I feel the game show as we know it has sunk to a all time low.
No more NBC in this house if this is what they choose to air.

I agree g-n-p, I didn't watch the show but the whole "reality TV" thing is out of control. It's not just NBC, they all are going for ratings. Litle wonder why I watch much anymore.

The stuff shown on TV, both in programs and commercials, is the reason we don't have TV on this place. I've found it easy to live without. Don't take a newspaper either...and I don't miss anything "important."

My daughter is raising her 2 children, ages 11 and 10, without TV, and it's amazing how they have learned to entertain themselves, not to mention, they read at a much higher grade level than other kids their age.

Pull the plug on the TV and put it in the dumpster. Believe me, your family will be better off without it.

I guess it was the fact that it was during primetime when they showed this that pissed me off. This country is going to shiit faster than I care to admit. Next thing you know they'll be pissing about the "under god" in the pleadge.

I watched the show up to that point... it wasnt bad till then.. contestants vote on which one will not be able to complete a task.. then the person with the most votes has to complete the task.. First couple of "feats" were pretty good, from riding a mechanical bull high in the air, answering questions, to swinging from rings in the ceiling to get a ribbon on the last ring.. but it was that strip task that finished me for watching it... For every time she missed the ball, she lost one article of clothing.. at the end, when she was down to panties, the hostess gave her two free balls if she would strip completely, or to stop then and go into the dog pound.. well you know the outcome.. she took the free balls and stripped..

It should not have been on during prime time..but its not only primetime shows that are sinking to a new low... its the whole tv programming.. they seem to think it has to be sex oriented or violent to get ratings...

There is a time and place for everything, but primetime, or daytime programming is NOT the time for complete frontal nudity.. even if she was "fogged out"

Good for you Rafter, my idiot box went into the attic about 3 years ago, stayed there for 1.5 years. My daughter had to have a operation, and after couldnt move around a lot for 3 weeks, kinda tough for a 4 year old. Idiot box came down, it is still here. Hooked to a VCR, no cable, rabbit ears pick up 1 station if the weather gods smile on it. I control the movies so none of the crap from NBC, CBS, ABC whatever gets here.

My daughter also reads and writes better than her peers, and those above her grade level. 3 year old son can write some and read a little. She Who Makes The Rules homeschools them. I took a transfer to a area where my $ go a bit farther and SWMTR quit working outside the home.

Well good! I hope now you will take a more active role in your children's lives rather then letting the TV be their babysitter.

I'm just joking, wanted to see if this would stir something up!

elmos608-- I wish I had had the wisdom, when my kids were growing up, to have thrown the TV out of the house. My daughter saw the error of my way--that's why she's raising her kids without it. She also home schools them. I wasn't a believer in that at first, but have since become a convert.

I'm glad that guns-n-painthorses has seen the problem and has the kazuttas to take action. Most parents don't give a flip, or just shrugg their shoulders and let their kid's minds be filled with crap.

Guys, I play a big role in my kid's lives. I spent 2 hours washing a horse and another six hours at a show so my girl could show in two classes. Everything I do around here is for my kids. I just thought I could let the kids watch the tv without having to worry about the content, but I was wrong.

right civilian polite version of HMFIC, my options on the homeschooling were, "yes Dear" or just be quite.
