Not slamming Colt, but could somebody please tell me WHY a Phyton is "worth" the skyhigh price that is being asked for them?I've had two, and IMO, the S&W K-N is better. The lockwork is better and they stay in time better and are more accurate.Just wondering, and yes I am wearing nomex.

No one has yet mentioned that Colt quit making practically all their handguns (thus, supply and demand drives prices up)when the threat of being sued slapped them in the face. Smith, on the other hand, continues to make complete lines of handguns....now under the ownership of Saf-T-Hammer...an American held company. There could be a whole thread on just S&W vs. Colt! I prefer S&W from 30 years ago also.

You are paying for the name. In my opinion, the S&W's are just as good.

Personally I think the Python has a lot better finish and smoother action than any SW. Don't get me wrong, I have been buying SW's for 30years and they are great. Supply and demand has driven up the cost on the Colts. They are again offering the Python and the Anaconda. I have a Python that out shoots all the SW's I own. Hey but thats just me.I say the SW's for Monday-Saturday, and the Colt Python Elite for Sundays for show!
