Streamwood man faces charge of selling rifle to his neighborsPublished October 4, 2001A day after a Streamwood couple were in a Cook County courtroom on gun charges, authorities Wednesday charged their neighbor with selling them the assault rifle that started the investigation.Jeffrey Giljum, 34, was charged with unlawful sale of a MAK-90, a semiautomatic assault-style rifle based on the AK-47. Darlene and Lawrence Pedersen were charged with gun offenses after Streamwood police reported finding five guns and other weapons in their home in the 1800 block of Quaker Hollow.Police said they found the weapons after a standoff that began when Lawrence Pedersen pointed the rifle at an acquaintance. Giljum failed to allow the 24-hour waiting period before selling the rifle to Darlene Pedersen for $200, Cook County Assistant State's Atty.
