    Tony
When is GM going to make the Tahoe's more fuel efficient?
I really like them, but, can't live with 14-17 mpg. I do about 40,000 miles a year and with that mileage I'd be pushing $8,000/yr just for gas.
Hope all is well with the family.

You always seem quick to someones aid,was hoping you could answer a question.By the way those are some sweet looking AR's you've got there!I've heard and read that on ar's like mineColt CAR 3 cr6724 Elite that guns with stainless barrels are best broken in with a fire/cleaning schedule.Like shoot 1,clean,shoot 2 rounds, clean, this up to 5,then do that 5 times, something like that up to around 50 rounds.Any thoughts?I've got maybe two more months till I can shoot it,I've got time.

Thanks for replying in the SL8 thread at 'Ask the Experts'. I go to shoot (iron sights) an SL8 a few weeks back. It is an accurate gun (and loud). I am considering a purchase. Can you give me any information on what you scoped it with? HK product? Other? If other, did you mount to the rail?

Where can I get the black folder plastic for my SL8 like your pic in Mateos "I went a little nuts" thread? I have an SL8 with the PC grey factory stock I wouldn't mind making the conversion on.

Just to satisfy my curiosity I went through the members list to see who and when the oldest recorded member was.

You are with a 8/29/1999 date.

So congrats to you Sir, for whatever it is worth.[:)] Can you apprise us youngsters what things were like when you were the only member on this forum? Who the heck did you talk to? What was it like? Imagine this forum with but one member.

There were 2 other members with dates just 2 days later...Aglore and Captkirk3@dslextreme.com. What a triad.[:D] Ya'll could really whoop it up then.

I dont know about kimberkid, but if money wasn't an issue Id choose the stainless gold match, however, I had to compromise. I got the stainless target. I will say this, if the gold match shoots better than the target it must be awsome. Went to the range saturday mornin and shot a couple hundred rounds. Flawless function, great accuracy. At about 30 to 35 meters from bench was able to keep most inside six had a couple of flyers, but they were reloads one of my friends had been experimenting with.

When Clinton left office they gave him a 21 gun salute. Its a damn shame they all missed....

4GodandCountry nailed it for first pick with the Stainless Gold Match, my second would be Eclipse Target ... or if I wanted it for concealed carry, then it would be the Pro-Carry CDP.

In my humble opinion their Super Match is way overpriced and I'm not impressed with their 3" at 50 yard guarentee ... the few test targets I've seen were slightly under 1.5" but shot at 25 yards ... but when I'm told a gun will shoot a certin group at a 50 yds, for $1750+ I want to see an actual 50 yard target.

    *EDIT*
Just re-checked the Kimber site ... for the Super they now say: quote:"Each Super Match is tested for accuracy and is guaranteed to have shot a 1-inch group at 25 yards."

The only bad thing about choosing a Kimber ...
... there are so darn many models to choose from!

I have a Classic Target that I am pleased with. I installed a Wilson match barrel bushing and had a trigger job done to get it to 3 1/2#. I couldn't see that it needed anything else.

Thanks for all your input. My friend left his Stainless Gold Match with me the other day. Going to a range today to check it out. It looks great and feels really great in my hand. I never heard anything bad said about the Kimbers. I've always been a big Sig fan but looking for a change. Guess I'll have to bring that damn plastic card with me.
