Grilled Asparagus

Best way you will ever eat asparagus!

Mix seasme oil with soy sauce about a 1/8 cup each.

Get grill good and hot a place asparagus on rack. paint on the oil mixture and let cook til gill lines appear. baste again and remove. It will make Asparagus lovers out of doubters.

So who does it. I always bought it pre Cooked from a local store.

So yesterday I bought some and gave it a try myself. Really simple cover in some olive oil and sea salt.

Place on grill just after you turn the meat the 1st time. Top rack.

If you've never tried Pinot Grigio Asparagus ... you should.
(Thunder Bird wine will work but you'll want to take a
shopping cart and hit the streets, afterwards!)

For four:

* 1 pound fresh asparagus spears, trimmed
* 1/4 cup white wine
* 2 tablespoons butter

DIRECTIONS:

1. Place asparagus in a microwave-safe dish. Pour in wine, and small pieces of butter.

2. Cover loosely, and cook in the microwave on High for 3 minutes, or until bright green
and tender. Allow the dish to stand 5 minutes before serving.

Pretty much any "veg" on the grill make them much better. Yellow Italian Squash, Zucchini, Egg Plant, with a bit of Olive Oil and Kosher Salt, some time on the grill (good stuff). But the best is Corn on the Cob with the husk burnt off.

I like to lightly brush mine with Wishbone Italian Dressing a few times while on the grill. Sometimes I like to melt mozzarella cheese over it then sprinkle diced roma tomatoes on the melted cheese.[8D]

Our favorite for grilling is--If ou live near where they grow grapes is to get the old prunings off the gape vines in the fall. Store them all winter and then, when grilling time comes you cut the prunings up in inch long pieces and soak them water for a few hours. when you use them over charcoal, just throw a handfull on top of the charcoal and you will add some really tasty aroma to the BBQ. One thing is remember--you must use Chardonay trimmings when cooking fish and Cabernet Sauvignon trimmings for beef, wild game. etc...[:D][:D]

Great food item. I add seasoned bread crumbs on top with some cheese.
