I can't believe this stuff is still happening. Any supervisor in charge of serving warrants needs to make sure the location is triple checked for accuracy before entering, and then only after clearly identifying themselves as LE.

These home search warrants cause more damage than crimes they stop I think.

    Wow!

    From the article:

," Stawinski said, explaining that their hunt for a local drug dealer, and a tip from an informant, had led them to the apartment.

"The investigation led us to the wrong address," Stawinski said,

Recurrent issue in these types of things. Bad information, purposeful or not, leading officers to hasty, and sometimes incorrect, actions.

Won the lottery. Payday, payday, pay me.

Also I think there should be a reading and see if cops are dyslexic or hears one thing see if that jumbles in the noodle to get spit back out confused. They got a test like that?

These warrants being served on the wrong people or the wrong places has been going on too long. It?s time for this kind of ?mistake? to end. It?s time for the person responsible, which should be easy to prove loses his/her job and spends some time in the lockup.

If that doesn?t end it at least it won?t be the same people doing the same rain onups over and over again.
The road to hell is paved with COMPROMISE.

There are alot of LEO's out there that should never have received a badge. MANY departments out there don't have set standards by which one is measured to become an officer and if they do it's all "who you know"[xx(]

I remember reading of that happening a few years ago,but the homeowner killed a couple of the cops, thinking they were home invaders.I never heard what happened to the homeowner if anything.
