Which gun maker has the best/worst CS

CS=Customer service. A front site popped off my Colt 1991 and they replaced both sites with 3 dot type. They were great. I had a S&W 669 and the frame cracked and they charged me 200 bucks and it still didn't work till I figured out the extractor was bad too. Bought the part from numrich and it runs fine. Had a Steyr 9mm GB(?)(long time ago) that the mag would drop when you let the slide forward. They fixed it real fast like 2 days.

Winchester/Browning! I bought a new Model 70 in 2008 and couldn't get any groupings what so ever! I called them up and asked their opinion. Of course they wanted to look at it, so they emailed me a shipping label and off it went. Within two days, I had received about a half dozen phone calls letting me know the progress through the shop. I never found out what exactly was wrong with the first rifle, but I received an email stating that they were replacing the rifle. I had about a two week turn around with a brand new "new" rifle! The new rifle shoots like a dream.

Kahr screwed me royally on my new PM9 after it had repearted FTF issues then a jammed round that even the dealer couldn't remove.

Googled and found my issues with PM9 so swapped for a G26 that has never missed a beat in about 3,000 rounds.

Springfield has amazing cs. I called them and got a real live person almost immediately. The part I needed was for my 1911, cost 12 dollars and was in my mailbox in like 2-3 days.

Folks at SIG are pretty arrogant and the folks at Keltech are useless.

Can't say I have any other experiences on this subject to pass on.

I know they are not a gun company, but the folks at Streamlight are above and beyond expectations. I made the mistake of putting rechargeable cr123 batteries in my Scorpion light and blew the xenon bulb instantly. I called Streamlight, told them what happened and asked if this was normal. They stated that the bulb could not withstand the sudden electrical surge produced by the rechargabele batteries, but since they did not put that info in the product guide, they would correct the problem. About four days later, I had three new bulbs and a 12 pack of Streamlight cr123 batteries in the mailbox. I screwed up and yet they fixed for me.

I wouldn't say EAA is either good or bad, but if I had to guess I'd say they only have 5 or so people working for them. The 6 or so times I've had to call them about orders I maybe talked to 2 different people and the voice mails they left for me were done by a third. I'd say they're just a small, busy company.

Bad ,my son bought a new one, and I forget which model, but would jam quite often. Sent it back twice and they kept telling him nothing was wrong and finally wouldn't take it back. He still has it but doesn't shoot it much.

    Henry has excellent customer service.

I bought a .22 lever gun from my cousin. He ruined the action with a dremel.

I emailed Anthony Imperato about it, told him what was wrong, he said mail it to us and we'll fix no charge and pay to ship it back.

And they did it ASAP. Works like a dream[:D][:D][:D][:D]

    Ruger ?
Sucks. I have a three screw single six, at twenty feet it couldn't hit the target. After ten or more years I took a split rod with crocus cloth to the barrel, using a cordles drill motor. It worked must of had a hand nail at the end of the barrel.I tried for ten years or more to get Ruger to fix it, they never called or emailed me back.

So far S&W was great. Back in early 2000's my 1076 had de-cocker issues. Even though I was not the original purchaser they fixed her up for free and they even gave me a slimmer grips.

Kimber so far has been slow as in I was ignored for almost a month. We'll see how much they'll charge me for the new frame.

The opinions here vary quite a bit. I guess one bad experience with a lousy employee will sour someone on an entire company. Good lesson for managers to take note of. One bad employee can lose thousands for a company. Not only lost sales from that one customer but also from every person that customer relates his bad experience too.

I think that some companies change from time to time.

I have sent several guns to Ruger for repairs, updates and refinishing. All came back great and they even sent shipping boxes if I called them first.

S&W repaired/rebuilt my LE service revolver years ago back and I had it back in about a week, fixed and shooting accurately.

Remington replaced a stock that cracked and has done several other repairs, all at no cost.

Kahr repaired my 40 cal and it came back working great.

Thompson Center updated some older Contenders and muzzleloaders and were always great but when I recently tried to get a rear sight for my R-55 Classic 22, they kept telling me it was back ordered (for about a year) before finally telling me that they would not be getting it at all since the gun was discontinued. I have a hard time believing that they couldn't find one laying around on an old barrel or something. The man I spoke with at T/C then told me it was a Williams sight and since I only live about an hour from Williams Gunsight, I took it there only to be told that they had not been the supplier for that sight. So I am still looking...

I agree that sometimes one employee can do an awful lot of GOOD or BAD for a company. That's why it is important to for companies to try to keep the good ones there and train or to dismiss the ones not willing to do what they should.

My only customer service story has to do with (I'm ashamed to admit) Hi-Point. They are awesome, and could teach a thing or two to the Big Boys. Instant response, free replacement parts (no questions asked), and a free Osama Bin Laden target! Which I still have.

    I learned this little axiom year ago that I preach to my folks regarding customer service;

They might not remember your name.
They might not recall what you said.
They'll always remember how you made them feel.

Maybe a bit of that might help some of these companies out.

Only manufacturer I sent anything to was Colt to replace some parts on a SAA. Great work, and all was as promised.

When I worked at a dealer, Kahr overcharged my credit card for the P45 I ordered. One phone call, talked to an American man, and was refunded and they sent 2 extra magazines and a T shirt.
Half of the lives they tell about me aren't true.

    I've only had 3 experiences...

    1) Entreprise. Called trying to find out how a receiver left the factory, and couldn't even get anyone who spoke English. And it wasn't Spanish either, my wife couldn't get any sense out of 'em either.

    2) Armscor (Rock Island Armory) - Ammo issue (they covered shipping and sent me 2 bricks to replace one box, 1 hour replies to emails, etc) not gun issue for me, but they have a great reputation and high up representative on a 1911 focused forum

    3) Savage - Only downside is they take a lunch break from 12 to 1 daily, are open "bankers hours", and only do telephone. But, polite, informative, helpful, no terminal holding, and gave great advice. From a rimfire central forum, they have a good reputation for fixing the QA issues that slip through.

Remington has great CS... But have sorry QC. The last 2 Rem 700 rifles l bought had to be sent back because the scope mounting holes were drilled crooked. Both were hi dollar models too. Purchased a year apart. CS fixed them both.

l solved the problem tho. No more new guns for me. Last 6 rifes purchased from anybody ended having work done. Mostly sorry triggers. Remingtons are solved by installig a Shilen. Rugers require a gunsmith.

lts used ONLY now. And ONLY off GB [:D]

New Taurus auto with feeding and FTF problems.Back for warranty service twice.Exact same problem the first go round.Second trip back they cured the FTF problem but would not go through a half mag of ammo and stop feeding. What good is a life time warranty if they cant fix the problem?
