what is the correct pronunciation of 30-06?some say thirty ott six,some say thirty odd six, some say thirty o six .who is correct?

    I was thinking about buying a 30-06. How does this compare to a .308 in things such as accuracy and range? Whats more plentiful .308 or 30-06?

    ok i know i am maybe beating a dead horse, but have not really been
    keeping up (twisted off into golf world) when it comes to hunting in the us. i know their are mags that will shoot very flat, lets stay at 300-350 yards, they also buck about as hard, and their are non mags that shoot a very small bullet very flat, It seems when i look at say 150-160 grain bullet for deer, elk and look at the ballistics charts,
    i can not find a reason to leave the 06. like i said i have been out of touch (golf fanatic) has some thing happened i don't know about?
    the 06 ruger i have hammers me pretty good, don't need more punshment
    would like 150-160 grain bullet, is ther some thing out their that will do this better than an 06 with less recoil.

    Saxon P.,I saw it,a few times!!Did you ever see the one when they first saw their mansion? They thought it was a prison,and they held the escaping inmates(gardeners) at bay with them lever guns?Then the police came and threw Jed & Jethro,Granny&Ellie in jail. Mr.Drysdale comes and gets em out ,and when they se he`s taking them back to the mansion,they think he`s takin` them to the prison.They jump out of the car,Jed says "Mr. Drysdale,you tricked us,you were gunna take us ta prison","Lets run fer da hills"!!!!
