I usually laugh at the commemorative stuff I see on the shelves of sporting good stores like Cabelas and think what 'kind of fool would buy something like a commemorative with zero practicality'.
I got suckered today[:I]
I could not keep myself from buying the Hoppes Commemorative Cleaning kit.
I opened the kit up and instantly went back to the dinner table of my youth, where my dad seemed to prefer performing his gun cleaning chores.
He always used Hoppes #9.
I opened the bottle, and took a couple big hits[8D][:D]
Dejavue and flashbacks to some very good memmories flooded my soul along with thoughts of my Dad and the Characters he hung around with.
After my first commemorative purchase that I have ever made, I can sort of understand why the Commemorative items are such great sellers.
This cleaning kit is instantly my favorite gun cleaning kit, even if I never actually clean a gun with it.
I better put this cap back on the bottle.[:D]

I had to go look at the receiept.
I didn't evenpay attention to the price tag when I saw it.
I told you Igot suckered[:I][:0][:o)][:D]
[:0]..less than $20?...[V]..a cleaning kit here for 357/38 is priced at nearly $45..just to clean one calibre..[V]..you guys dont know how cheap things are.[V][V][V]
You can't just buy a few brushes for each cal?
no...the rods i have here dont accept any brushes that are on the market now...the .22 and 12g kits i have belonged to my dad...they are about 50 years old now i reckon...old anyway.
Its the same $$, it just costs more to ship, crap all the way down there.[:D][:D]
i can buy good kits in the u.s. but with the exchange rate like it is now and with postage from the u.s being so expensive it works out cheaper to just pay the prices here [V]..i emailed someone who had a good kit on the auction side who said he`d post to here...it cost double for the postage than what the kit cost..oh well...serves me right for not buying when our $ was worth 98 u.s. cents u.s....now its worth around 62 u.s. cents [xx(]
Wonder if they used the original formula? Probably not.
