Very nice indeed. I think you should use the deer as a gauge. Do not shoot anything smaller than that.

    Classic,
I had to do a quick double-take when your pick came up.
I have almost the exact same case.
The deer on mine is only a shoulder pose, but the floral tooling looks nearly identical.
Strangely enough, I picked mine up from an old gentleman at a flea mart. He was trying to get too much money for a re-finished pre-64 model 94 in 30 WCF, and an old but well kept Remington 870 Wingmaster.
I was thinking hard about the Wingmaster and returned to his booth several times. On about my third trip back, he asked if I was going to buy that shotgun or wear it out handling it.
I put the shotgun down and suggested that if he sold me that gun case for $10 (he was asking $30), I would happily go away and never darken his booth again.
I'm not sure, but I think at $10 I bought the case for about 10% of actual retail.
BTW, mine houses a 1924 vintage Savage 99 takedown in .300 Sav.
Also, mine is marked under one of the straps: HECHO EN MEXICO

This one has Mexico on it someplace, I saw it, and ifn ya got one for 10 bucks, thats a steal. Try picking one up at any gun shop, especially all leather and hand tooled. More like a couple hundred around here..

Wow ... indeed that is one beautiful case! Sure looks better than my home-made ones, but I can roll mine up and then use them as a scarf if it gets cold toward the end of the day. Mine are: Handy - yes! Beautiful - no![:D]
