The possibility of death helps us to live our lives in a more meanful way!

What if death only occurred by accident or homicide? Wouldn't we all become risk-averse recluses and live boring lives? And wouldn't the older generations refuse to make way for the younger? The clock is ticking for all of us.

sounds silly to me. No one can sustain peak experience for long and living on the razor edge of that awareness can only lead to anesthesia.

We should always strive to make a difference. If we don't understand that we aren't guaranteed tomorrow, why should we care what we do today? We'll always feel like we could fix things tomorrow. It's best to do things like we're going to punch out when we're done.

Death is not a possibility, it is a reality. No one gets out of here alive.
The fact that you will die should make a people want to make a positive differance in the lives of others, that way they will be remembered after their short existance expires.
Just my 2 cents, your milage may vary.

If we really believed it and took it to heart, it would but we don't. That's why the world's in the pickle it is.

We are meant to get used to things. It keeps us sane. As for dying, we are forced to think about it more as trips to the doctor become more frequent and problems need solving as we get older, believe me I know. Also, I used to be able to eat pizza and donuts and maintain a certain weight. I was also able to work out without the tendonitis and age-related knee deterioration I've got to work against now. So I weigh more, and date less. At least I have more time for guns, and don't have to worry about what the lady of the house thinks about the expense (small consolation). Or maybe I used up my quota of beautiful women too early in life, who knows. My attitude is good, and I'm a busy guy. But if I had to say one thing about the inevitable, I would say it's better NOT to die alone, so if you have a choice how to spend your days, make friends and try to keep them.

I saw this piece in a magazine and wanted to see what other people thought about the quote. I don't really believe in the quote. You could have the idea that hey I'm going to die some day why not do everything I can until it happens. Does not mean you have a more meanful life? I guess in some ways it could help you look at your life in different way. Make you see what is important and what's not. When you die you don't really get take anything with you. You also do it alone. Which kind of scares me. I think being with the people you love can enrich your life even more. Then living byself alone rest your life. I don't want to offend anyone, but I know some people might like living by their self. So I'm not talking about you. I'm just saying for myself I would want to be with someone I love and my family.

Do your best to be a good Husband,Father,Friend,Neighbor and Chistian and accept the death of your body to free your soul.

thank goodness!! i cant imagine living forever. at my age you kindof look forward to passing away, you also come to realise that the days left are growing shoter and shorter so you try to do thing that are right for you and not to please someone else. ive worked hard all my live it seems and have been knocked down several times when i thought i was finaly set. i have always managed to get back up and start over again but now at 67 i dont know if i would have the gumption to do it again. boy the changes i have seen amase me when i get to thinking about them. the post the other day about old geezers was so true. i remembered all but one of them and could have added several more. now its just trust the lord and look after the grankids. i guess i better quit before i get nostalgic. carl

We are all only a heart beat away from death's door. Christ said "Take no thought for tomorrow for tomorrow will take care of itself." That quote makes me look at my own short comings and faults.
It keeps me on track and focused for we are to occupy until he returns. If each of us knew for sure our life would be required of us at 8:00 A.M. Friday, how would we spend the long night?

Similar thought from another quote: "You are not ready to live until you know what you'd like to have written on your grave stone." Sounds good to me!
