Question about frangible handgun ammo

It's been a while since I've thought much about frangible ammo. I don't carry small calibers anymore much, but I still have some MagSafe and Glazer Safety Slugs around. I got to thinking about them again when people started talking about overpenetration from air marshalls' guns on airliners. What is the current trend of opinion about frangibles? Are they considered cruel by juries in court, or less lethal? Do people still believe they work well? I know there are some who think nothing works better, even now, and even in large caliber guns....Are they likely to be safer on aircraft (I assume so, at longer than point blank range)?

I like the Glaser rounds, but they use such a miserable blend of powders, creating a blinding muzzle flash, I usually choose Corbon (which is only loaded with hollow points) for any defensive situation. I've experienced similiar excessive muzzle flash with the Triton Frangible I've tried. The frangible rounds can make massive wound channels, which equals extremely effective "stopping power". They'd be my first choice for defense if I could find rounds loaded with better blends of powder. But frangible rounds would NOT be the only thing I'd carry--sometimes you might want to shoot through a car door or wall; you won't do that very well if all you have are frangible rounds. And with minimal calibers, .32, .25, .22, I wonder if frangible rounds might not penetrate enough to be effective--a bullet that will remain intact might penetrate deeper and have more effective "stopping power". I've only seen statistics/comment on frangible rounds down to .380 auto, so I'm not sure on frangible ammo in lesser rounds than that.

I've used the Quik-Shok on a skunk and found the effect just what it said. They cost a little more: But in my daughters 9 shot .22 that would be 27 exit wounds. To quote someone else "Gun Control is being able to hit your target"
