Where Did I Fail?

The lad calls me at work yesterday to tell me he won't be home for dinner. "Why not?", I wonder. He's going to the mall with his girlfriend. "What do you need to get?", I asked. And here's the reply that brought me to my knees and turned my bowels to water.

"Cindy needs to shop for a pair of shoes." Oh, Great Spirit, where have I erred? Shopping for shoes?!?!? How do I get my boy back?

I always have to shop for shoes. My years as a biologist and hunter have left me with a keen prey image, and I find shoes she walks past. I assume your son is a keen hunter?

I don't think your boy is doing anything any of us haven't done at some time or another.An expression I have heard all my life is,"he's just a growin boy".One last thing,I hope he has plenty of patience.

Where's the concern coming from? I love shopping for shoes! My wife goes in the shoe store, and I go to the auto./sporting goods/tool section of Sears, which is always just down the corridor in any mall. Nothing like shopping for shoes on a rainy day.

If it was a question of a matching purse for himself, I could understand. But shopping for shoes with a girlfriend? AAAAUUUUUGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!

maybe they really went to the gunshop to look at some new toys and didn't want you to find out so that you wouldn't sit his girl down and talk about guns for hours on end.
