I'm sure most of you have seen or heard this at one time or another but I still get "that feeling" EVERY time I read it.I Me. An individual. A committee of onePLEDGE Dedicate all of my worldly goods to give without self-pity.ALLEGIANCE My love and my devotion.TO THE FLAG Our standard. Old glory. A symbol of freedom. Wherever she waves there's respect. Because your loyalty has given her a dignity that shouts;"Freedom is everybody's job".OF THE UNITED United, that means that we have all come together.STATES OF AMERICA Individual communities that have united into fifty great states. Fifty individual communities with pride and dignity and purpose. All divided with imaginary boundaries yet united to a common purpose, and that is love for country.AND TO THE REPUBLIC Republic. A state in which sovereign power is invested in representatives, chosen by the people to govern. And government is the people. And it's from the people to the leaders not from the leaders to the people.FOR WHICH IT STANDS..ONE NATION One nation, meaning so blessed by God.INDIVISIBLE Incapable of being divided.WITH LIBERTY Which is freedom. The right of power to lives ones own life without threats, fear, or some sort of retaliation.AND JUSTICE The principle or quality of dealing fairly with others.FOR ALL For all. Which means it's as much your country as it is mine.Since I was a small boy, two states have been added to our country and two words have been added to the pledge of allegiance. "UNDER GOD" . Wouldn't it be a pity if someone said "that is a prayer" and that would be eliminated from our schools too?

I just received this and regardless whether it has been posted before, I just have to add it back on. If you can just listen to this man deliver the meaning...My God!

"In God We Trust" - it's on our money too (something a lot of folks hold dearer to their hearts than their faith, or the rights of others' to believe what they will). We are truly a blessed Nation; the hatred focused our way isn't for what we stand for but how we behave as a World Power.

spclark the hatred focused our way is because racial zealots (read moslems) hate anything they cannot understand. They thought they could damage our country with their insane attack on 9/11. Instead they have gathered all Americans together. They have awakened a giant, given him a fearful resolve and will pay the price.
So many guns to buy. So little money.

Badboybob: Moslems? What about the KKK, Nazis, etc? Don't be so narrow, broaden your horizons, please, because terrorists come under many colors, creeds, and religions!

Have y'all read about the school board who disallowed the school to participate in the mass pledge with the president, I think it was thursday, the prinicple quit, said if the Pledge wasn't allowed in school, he didn't belong there either......Damn Fine Man in my book. I wish I could remember where it happened.

Orphan, I think it happened in Wisconsin. They said that the pledge might offend someone because it has "under God" in it.If the pledge of allegiance offends anyone, than to me they have no right what so ever to be here PERIOD!!

I sure pine for the days when someone in the entertainment buisness was as unabashadly pro-American as this, instead of hating America, visiting our enemies during the Vietnam war, saying we deserved this, or screeching out the National Anthem and then grabbing her crotch when the crowd booed.
I may disagree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.--Voltare

Wish that I could ever live to be as good a man as red. but even this kind and gentle man knew how to wage war as much as he and all others in their right mind hates them.allways ended his programs with "God Bless"
