Been gone for a few days and haven't heard the latest.
Has the "Campain Finance Reform" bill gone anywhere?
I know Bush signed it, but someone on this site said he was smart in doing so as it would not got thru anyway. It seems that the subject just disappeared.

Actually, you cant say that George signing campaign Finance was "smart". It was dangerous, and he has put the constitution in jeopardy.
He swore to defend and uphold the constitution. He also admitted that he felt CFR was unconstitutional, but signed it anyway. How signing something that he acknowledges is unconstitutional, qualifies as "defending the constitution" is beyond me.
Bush supporters say "well, the court will strike it down anyway". Is that certain? There are several activist judges who regularly ignore the constitution, and vote on their "feelings". If some of these judges "feel" that CFR is a great "improvement" for our country, they could ignore the fact that it is unconstitutional(something they often do), and pass it as law. George Bush could have vetoed the bill, and avoided this possibility all together. But instead he decided to "take a chance" with the courts, who might pass this regardless of its unconstitutional implications. He has put the constitution in danger, even though he swore to defend it.
