Got called to do a poll today.
1st question asked was do I think we need new immigration laws. I had to answer yes or no. Feeling that immigration laws should be better enforced, I said no.
2. Do you think Bushes tax cut went to far? I answered no.
3. Do you believe there should be more gun control laws? I answered no.
4.Do you think abortion should be made illegal? Another question I do not like. I think it is an issue that the federal government should not in any way be involved with. I answered yes, but to me, the real issue is whether or not the federal government should have the authority to force the states to make it legal.
5. Do you think JIM GREENWOOD(my congressman) represents your views with respect to abortion? No(he loves abortion)
6. Do you consider yourself a conservative? Using todays defenition of a conservative, I do not consider myself a conservative-but once I realized my congressman was doing this poll, I answered YES.
7. Are you concerned about Social security? Again, I am concerned about SS, in the sense I think the Feds should not be collecting and distributing money for my own good-but I felt answering YES, would mean that I favored government involvement in my retirement. I answered NO.
8. Do you think Jim Greenwood represents you in Congress? NO.
I noticed no question was offered with respect to campaign finance. I think Jim might be getting heat because he was one of the skunk republicans who voted for campaign finance. I think he wants to hide the fact that he voted for CFR.
From the way the questions were phrased, I can certainly understand how the questions can be phrased in order to get the desired results of the poller. I do not think "yes" or "no" answers can represent how people feel on an issue. If those are the only answers you can offer, it is easy to see how these skunks phrase questions in order to get the answers they want.

I asked the last guy who it was that was doing the poll and he said they were confidential. I said, "well then, so am I." - and hung up.

Beach- I have done a few of those. They call me every couple of months, ask me some questions, and then send me a check for $25. I am actively trying to make this a career.
