Bush, "The Worst President", Stacks Up Very Well

The following appeared in the Durham, NC local paper as a letter to the
editor. Please forward to all on your list as this will put things in
perspective:

Liberals claim President Bush shouldn't have started this war. They
complain about his prosecution of it. One liberal recently claimed Bush
was the worst president in U.S. history.
Let's clear up one point: We didn't start the war on terror. Try to
remember, it was started by terrorists on 9/11.
Let's look at the "worst" president and mismanagement claims.
FDR led us into World War II. Germany never attacked us: Japan did.
From 1941-1945, 450,000 lives were lost, an average of 112,500 per
year.
Truman finished that war and started one in Korea, North Korea never
attacked us. From 1950-1953, 55,000 lives were lost, an average of
18,333 per year.
John F. Kennedy started the Vietnam conflict in 1962. Vietnam never
attacked us. Johnson turned Vietnam into a quagmire. From 1965-1975,
58,000 lives were lost, an average of 5,800 per year.
Clinton went to war in Bosnia without UN or French consent, Bosnia
never attacked us. He was offered Osama bin Laden's head on a platter
three times by Sudan and did nothing. Osama has attacked us on
multiple occasions.
In the two years since terrorists attacked us, President Bush has
liberated two countries, crushed the Taliban, crippled al-Qaida, put
nuclear inspectors in Lybia, Iran and North Korea without firing a shot,
and captured a terrorist who slaughtered 300,000 of his own people. We
lost 600 soldiers, an average of 30 a year. Bush did all this abroad
while not allowing another terrorist attack at home.
Worst president in history? Come on!

Better brush up on your history as to who helps big business.[;)] Wall ST puts anyone in who will take us to war with the business people counting the war profits all the way to the bank. Don't kid yourself a politician is just that a politician beholding only to those with enough money to give them a job. Mayors Govs Senators and Pres. alike. Watch the war time profits of select companies soar to new highs, no wonder Wall St is on a roll. Bush is hardly the worst but not exactly who I wan't to vote in for another term.[:(]

After being 10 blocks away from the twin towers on 9-11 I was happy Bush was in office for this one reason. If Gore were the pres. he would of fired 12 cruise missles then forgot about the whole thing like his idol Big Bubba did.

Bush the worst?.....Not while Carter and Clinton are on the list.
And what's all this crapola that Kerry's puking about Bush never having served in combat so he can't lead us properly. OK...Kerry was in combat, but that was BEFORE he returned to the U.S. and totally disgraced himself and dishonored the troops in Viet-Nam.
Who was our leader during the most horrific war this country has ever known? Lincoln. Never was in combat. Didn't do too shabby a job.
How about WWII? Gee...lemme' think...what combat outfit was FDR in?
How about the the Cold War? Maybe the most dangerous insofar as threat to the U.S. was concerned. Let's think back to who it was that made the Russkies back down and dismantle their ENTIRE EFFEN COUNTRY.
WITHOUT FIRING A SHOT I might add!
    YEP....Ronaldus Magnus. OOOPS....no combat.

    Mudge the opinionated

ps. A REAL hero shouldn't find it necessary to keep reminding people that he's a hero. That too subtle for you Kerry fans?

Do any of you Bush hater's think Al-Queda is/was satisfied when the towers were destroyed? Anyone with half a brain knows their ultimate goal is to destroy our country. They're not through, but the ones that are left are too busy ducking bombs and bullets to do a whole lot of planning, much less carrying out any more attacks.

911 took place 8 months after Bush took office. Eight months isn't very much time to put back together the military/intelligence community that Clinton spent 8 YEARS dismantling.

One thing in particular Clinton did was to forbid our intelligence agencies from paying informants that were known bad guys. What in the world was he thinking? Any cop that's ever worked informants knows you don't get your information from the Head Deacon at the First Baptist Church. You get your information from other druggies, thieves, etc. On a larger scale, you pay one terrorist to tell on another one. You'll get the one you pay later for something else.

Jobs and/or the lack of them, are on lots of folks' minds. In a recession, jobs are the first thing to go. When the economy starts to rebound, as it is now, jobs are the last thing to catch back up.

I heard on the news the airline industry has just now come back to the volume of flights and such that it was before 911. The airline industry was hit the hardest, as we all know.

What do you think would happen to our economy if the terrorists were successful in attacking us again? How many more jobs would be 'lost?'

Ya'll want John Kerry as President? John 'Vietnam war vet purple heart winner Vietnam Vets Against the War Jane Fonda lover' Kerry has a splendid record as a Senator. What's so splendid about his record? He voted against EVERY bill in congress for our military, including Cruise Missles and the Patriot Missle. Both in the Gulf War and the Iraqi War, Cruise Missiles alone saved countless numbers of US Soldiers' lives.

Do you want a President that has the gonads to fight back, or one that considers what's 'popular' in his decision making?

Anyone that blames Bush for all the democrap
foul-ups over the years is almost dumb as a
    democrap.
    1. Who made a deal with the big oil companies
that is responsible for gas prices even today.
    2. the same guy who pardoned the cowards that
    ran off to Canada.
3.who made the deal to have the american ship
sunk in the south atlantic to attempt to
legitimize America's involvment in the 2nd.
    world war.
    3. Who jazzed up the bay-of pigs troops and then
deserted them in their most desperate hour.
    4. the first one that turned the White House
into a cat-house and was killed along with his
brother for crossing up his campaign contributers
    the mob.

I could go on and on but it would in no way do
anything to improve democrap short memory.

I may not agree with all of President Bush's decisions but as a Vietnam vet and as a supporter of the Second Ammendment - I wouldn't
vote for Kerry for dog catcher. I consider myself an Independent Voter and I'll cast my vote based on the Issues - not on the hype that Kerry's camp is spewing.
I admire and respect President Bush and will vote for him as I believe most thinking U.S. Citizens will also do.
