New cars, Make a salesman mad!!

Have you noticed the little extra $$'s they tack on when you buy a new car? AC-$800, Power steering-$600, Power disk brakes-$400, AM-FM with CD player-$300. And so on.

Now with that said, have you ever noticed that every new car on the lot has all these features as an option!

Have you noticed any on the lot without any of these options?? Doubtful!!

Now to make the salesman mad! or look like a fool! Try and buy one without theses options!!
Six months to a year, special order!

In reallity hardly any new car comes off the line without AC or Power steering!

Most people want these options, but are they really options anymore??

Just something to think about, From the twisted mind of Dupont!!!

Of course I can play the piano, as long as it has pedals!

Actually most of the options come as packages on the cars on the lot. You can get them individually, but generally several come together. I ordered a pickup with exactly what I wanted on it and it only took 3.5 months.

A pool company I worked for in my younger days got a big hassle when they went to get a small truck for running between the job site and shop. They went to a Chevy dealer first, and asked for a S-10. The same place they got all their trucks. When they told the guy what they wanted (plain white w/ no pinstripe, AM only radio, 5 speed tranny, no power steering, no AC, manual locks, etc,) which would have been the most bare-bones they could get, the guy laughed. He told them it couldn't be done, and said every vehicle HAS to come with some options, and you can't get what you want. Needless to say, after ripping on the manager, they left. Then they went to a Dodge place and asked for their small one. A Ram 50 I think. They found one for them two states over and had it to them in a week. After getting it they drove it to the first place and told them they would no longer be a cutomer in the future.

I've ordered every new vehicle I ever owned, waiting two to seven months for it. Got what I wanted w/o the BS of two tone paint, A/C (very useful in NH), power locks, etc. Patience & persistence pay big dividends.

I quite buying new vehicles a few years back. Finally figured out when you buy a new car on Monday - it is a used car on Tuesday.
