Just getting back from a morning hunt.....Called in a moma with two pups. Came in from behind us out of a grass patch. My 10 yr old had his 20 ga with 3" mag buckshot we never saw them till after the fact.
My buddy about 20ft behind us saw them the same time they saw him. He let two go out of his .223 , but that just make them find another gear. But as always it was a great just being out there. Boy the mosquitoes were bad.......Ya'll up north folk sure don't know what your missing out on.........

At the break of day it was 72 at 9 am I bet it was 80...........
The pups looked about three months old but I didn't get a really good look at them. The grass was almost knee high. They wouldn't come in to the rabbit but the whinning pups sure brought them in......Going try the crows this evening......That's a lot of action.......I'm way south of I-10 about 20 miles from the gulf.....South of Hwy 90 also

No coyotes up north? Hmm...them things I've heard out in the country at night must be howler monkeys.

    coonass:

If any Minnesotans see your post they may contend with your contention. There are 11-12,000 lakes in that state, and the natives say that the mosquito is the state bird.

Glad you had fun. There are more and more coyotes in these parts(NW Ohio). Don't know where they came from.

guess my reply did not make it ... Word around here is that the "Mosquito Capital of the World" is in Cambridge, New Brunswick!

Bwa- I live in Minnasota and I'm leaving for AZ. next week. Skeeters is one of the reasons why! This humidity here is bad. Not yet this year so I might get lucky before I go but a rain is in the forecast.

It's been a while.........Love to hear the redbones and blueticks. WE
have zero turkeys here. Wrong type of habitat the pros say.

Heck, that ain't nutt'en. Here in Texas, we have skeeters that take a load of number 6's to bring down. One swooped in and carried my cat off last Monday. After dark, them things use land'en lights as they approach the back porch. ;-)

Still ain't nutten. We hunt rabbits with packs of dogs in these parts. My best hound was almost killed by the rabbit he was chas'en yesterday. Took 41 stitches to get him patched up.
