Feeling bored today I loaded up the Bushy, the NEF .223, 760 gameBLASTER 30-06 and a Marlin .22 and headed for the range. I found out today that you do not try to shoot group on a hot and humid day, for some reason they all shot like doo doo.
The 30-06 was the worse
The NEF did so so, shot low right though, didnt do that before.
The Bushy wasnt impressive today
And for the heck of it, the Marlin .22lr (not bad for 100 yds heh?)
Now, tell me why the humidity threw the accuracy off so bad. And I shot all 4 guns at the same 2 targets and there was a couple fliers floating around. This is a very bad day shooting for me and I'm disgusted.

Hey 7mm you got the purtiest dern targets.
At least you had something nice to look at, I usually use plain old cardboard with a felt marker at our range. To see something that nice I'd have to be really artistic before shooting!

Competitive shooters prefer to shoot with a little cross-wind, to keep the mirage blown away. Cross-wind is much easier to "read" than mirage. I never did learn to read mirage very well, but I knew some people how could.
The next time you go out on a day like this, sit there in the near ready position (but not tense or fatigue will set in) and wait until there is a little poof of wind down range. Then within the next 3-4 seconds, fire the round before the mirage comes back. That little poof will blow the mirage away for a few seconds.
P.S. You may want to make a set of wind flags to put down range. If shooting at 100 yards, they should be positioned at 40 yards, and 70 yards. If shooting at 200 yards, position additional flags at 110 yards and 160 yards. They will tell you a lot about what's happening down range.
Hope this helps.
