Well lads, tis off to 5th Ave in New York City for MRS NJRETCOP and I this morning for the annual St Patrick's Day parade. This year, no doubt the parade will be very emotional with hundreds of NYC firefighters and police officers who will not be there thanks to Mr Bin Laden and his ilk. A special tribute is planned and we want to be there, even though the weather forecast is calling for rain today. The Irish have a way of getting through things together and I've no doubt there will be a lighter side as well. Just like an Irish wake, the Guinness will be on tap.ERIN GO BRAUGH to you all.-O Charlie

A friend of mine had a sign on his kitchen wall with what i'm guessing was an Irish toast on it, because it had a leprechaun on it. But I'm not sure , so forgive me if I'm wrong. To the best of my recollection it went something like this:May the sun shine warm upon your face,May the wind blow at your back,May the rain never fall so hard as to drown your crops,And may you never be so drunk as to fall off the face of the earth.[This message has been edited by Brth729 (edited 03-16-2002).][This message has been edited by Brth729 (edited 03-16-2002).]

Being 100% American with a background of Irish decendants, I feel it is my duty to inform everyone here that alcohol is the only thing that has kept my ancestors from ruling the world. Centuries ago the Irish called beating the ground with a stick, withcraft; today we call it golf. Happy Saint Patrick's Day from will, the native American(born here) redneck Irish feller.
