OSAMA----LEFT-HANDED???!!

Am I the only one who has noticed this, or is my fascination for minutia gone overboard? One of the common film clips shown of Bin Ladin has him preparing to fire an AK-74.His left knee is on the ground, his left shoulder to the rear, and the weapon is on his left shoulder. He is also, as far as I can tell, left eye dominant.OK, big deal. Right?HeheheI myself, having served in the Southwest Asian Theater, am very amused at the fact that this self-proclaimed Islamic leader is "cursed" with such an "affliction". In that region (and I belive partially as a result of religious tenants) the left hand is considered the "bad" hand. It's the hands one uses in lieu of toilet paper. It's the hand you do not eat with, it's the hand that they leave you with when they cut the other off as punishment for thievery.

    Everytime I have seen that clip, the first thing I think of is "he is shooting lefthanded." I probably notice it off the bat because I am lefty.Its a lefty thing, you righties wouldnt understand.

    I noticed it right away and commented on the fact in another thread. I was immediately taken to task and accused of political incorrectness by several members of the militant left-handed crowd.

    218Beekeep- I dont know what gun shows you go to, but I never see a left handed gun at anyshows that I go to(well not quite never).And if you think the NAACP, National Organiztion for women, the anti-defamation league, etc.. are powerful, you just wait because the oppression of leftys is about to end. We are banding together, to change this tide of thousands and thousands of years of oppression.

    Now what the hell do I do? I am right handed but left eye dominant and have to shoot left handed(expert, 10 out of 10 on the 500 almost every year). I guess I'm the Pat Buchanan of right/left handedness.

    I recently purchased a bow in the pro shop that I frequent. I was standing there wathcing the fellow set up my bow, and I asked him if he ever gets confused setting up a left hand bow."Nah, I just have to remember to do everything backwards"I shot a look at him, and he realized he used a lefty slur. He quickly corrected himself; "Uh, I mean the other way."After he was finished, I walked out of there with my new bow, and I know as soon as I walked out the door, they were all standing around laughing at me and my dexterity. I know that is what righties do when there are no lefties around. Cracking all sorts of "leftcist" jokes. I know everytime I bring my pitiful self into that shop, snooping around helplessly among the guns, looking for a lefty rifle, asking if they have any, being told, "Not RIGHT now come back in a week", they are all laughing under their breaths. They will take my money when I buy scopes, and hunting supplies, but they care nothing for the plight of me and my left hand.My muzzleloader guy, who is an oltd timer who cares nothing for political correctness, does nothing to hide his anti-lefty attitude. I brought my rifle in, because I could not get the sight on. He took one look at it, and he told me I had the thing on backwards. He remarked "Well what else would I expect from a lefty, you do everything backwards".

    salzo, It's not really your fault, you were probably never corrected when you were a child. My youngest tried to be a lefty but I was RIGHT on top of it. Every time she'd pick something up with the WRONG hand, I'd beat her senseless, she's cured now! If I could just keep her from cowering in the corner whenever she sees me, she'd be almost like a normal girl.Any ideas?

    Hey quit picking on us left handed people. As for left handed rifles - I've never seen one and gave up looking. Except for the AK I use those old bolt rifles - they'll work for me.Had a left handed Remington pump shotgun but I traded that for a scope. For some reason we both think we got the better deal.

    A few positives about being lefty, for my fascist right hand friends to consider.1. Whenever there is a closeout sale on archery items, there is always a ton of lefty accessories.2. No one EVER wants to borrow your lefty guns. Which is important. My father in law borrowed my marlin 3030(not a lefty gun, quite ambidextorous). He took it out hunting, and he dropped the gun and broke the scope.I told him I sold the gun, and all I have are bolt action lefty guns. He doesnt want to use them, must be a hostile, leftcist mentality on his part.3.(and this is my favorite) When you righties do searches for guns on the old GB, you must have to type in all sorts of words to find what you are looking for. You have to scroll through all of those items, trying to find whgat you are looking for.Me? I just type in the word "left" and a page of items comes up. I do not have to type in Remington, Winchester, Ruger, Browning,model numbers, calibers, etc- I just type in "Left", and everything I would be looking for comes up. Certainly less time consuming, which gives me more time to visit the Bulletin Board.

    My Father is left handed, but the U.S. Navy made him shoot right handed. Never has broke that bad habit. Can still shoot better left handed than right, but give him a gun, and he picks it up like a right handed person. Anything else, its all lefts.Have right-handed gun, will travel

    I am another of those militant lefties, but I do have a right dominant eye, so I don't have to fuss with lefty rifles. Lefties are people at the extremes:There is a statistically significant advantage in the numbers of lefties who are both geniuses and mentally handicapped. However, there is no significant correlation between left-handedness and homos, unlike what someone said earlier. There is also a significant correlation between being left handed and being president. There have been far more left handed presidents than statistics would suggest.
