Baja, loosely translated means lower, or, to lower. Hence, Baja California sorta means "Lower California".
Also, there was an HBO movie called "Baja Oklahoma" which I took to mean "Texas". Bear with me.
Baja, West Virginia is a lame attempt a humor, to mean, the part of Virginia that is "below West Virginia".
There really is no place called "Baja West Virginia". But there is a town called "Bud".
Sounds like my kind of town.[8D]
