Madonna Calls for Peace at Los Angeles ConcertSeptember 15, 2001 4:08 am EST LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Pop diva Madonna led a prayer for peace on Friday at a sold-old concert at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, urging President Bush to show restraint in retaliating for Tuesday's attacks on the Pentagon and the World Trade Center."Last night, we had a moment's prayer for everybody who died on Tuesday," said the singer, who had opened the show wearing a skirt made from an American flag."Tonight I'd like to say a prayer for peace," she told the crowd of about 18,000 people. "Violence begets violence, and I don't know about you, but I want to live a long and happy life, and I want my kids to live a long and happy life."The crowd quieted down, but before the prayer minute was up, people began chanting, "USA, USA!"Madonna resumed her tour on Thursday night at the Staples Center after canceling her show there on Tuesday in the wake of the attacks in New York and Washington. Security was heightened on Friday at the auditorium.Ticket-holders were asked to open their bags as they entered the building, which was staffed by extra officers and bomb-sniffing dogs. "We're not doing this show because we want people to forget," she told the audience, which included such celebrities as actress Cameron Diaz and comedian Andy Dick. "We're doing this because we want people to remember how precious life is."The concert featured an array of costumes, fantasy stage effects and elaborate choreography."It was horrible (on Tuesday), but I'd like to think of it as a wake-up call. There's terrorism every day all over the world," Madonna said.People with tickets for Tuesday's canceled date will be admitted to Saturday's show.

    It's people like Madonna who pray for "peace at all costs" that would give up a great deal of freedom for a little security. It goes to show that she is insecure and that all of her money has yet to buy her the happiness of being secure in herself. Come hell or high water I will always feel secure in knowing that there is one greater to whom I belong and that America is resilient. I am not speaking of the Government. I am speaking of THE PEOPLE. A major reason why this nation has crumbled so badly over recent times is because many have forgotten that the Government is THE PEOPLE. THE PEOPLE have been subjected to the Government and now it is time to go through the crucible where trial by fire is necessary in order to refine the steel of which we are made. The crude and the evil must be separated from the good and the good must remain in order to maintain order.

    Hanoi Jane was a traitor beyond the defination of a traitor. What she did was beyond treason, she insulted and ended up hurting POW's through her actions, POW's who were fighting for their country. She was an enemy of the state as much as NOrth VietNam was. Madonna is just a stupit twit, although she can graduate to Hanoi Jane's level if she were to work at it. It really wouldn't suprise me at all though.

    No one really wants war, but we have no choice. We can't just sit back and say, "It's okay, lets talk about it." Madonna doesn't want her perfect little world disturbed. She might have to sacrifice a little and conserve fuel by limiting the number of limo's in her procession. She might not be able to fly anywhere, anytime she wants. What a self-serving bi***.

    Lowrider-if she will do that to rodman then she surely would have no problem doing it to Hussein,kadafy,Bin laden or any of the mid east S**T!Her mouth is one thing but her actions are another as with Hanoi Jane.If she ever gets the chance to screw over any American prisoners then she should get plugged by a patriotic American!

    Hussein, Kaddafi, and Bin Laden are devout fanatics engaged in a holy war. If I'm not mistaken, letting MaDoona go down on them is against their religion. However, raping her probably isn't. Maybe we can work out a trade- Hussein gets MaDonna and we get Bin Laden. Part of his sentence should be listening to her music 23 hours a day at a maximum security facility. Of course, we'll have to pay the guards a premium for that ugly assignment. This is sounding bettter all the time. (And before we start a thread decrying the support for violence against women, let me point out that MaDonna doesn't count as a women. Her exact species is yet to be identified, although it's thought to be some sort of hybred between Rosie O. and Dennis Rodman.)

    Monkey, most of the time i really like you. But civil is as civil does. What goes around comes around. Do unto others as you would like them to do unto you. For the record, theres some of her songs I kind of like, it's her behavior that i have a problem with.
