Non-violent offense and she gets this. She should have robbed a bank.

BREAKING NEWS: Woman in cancer scam sentenced to 30 years of probation

Pam Allen of Cleveland, Tenn., was sentenced to 30 years of probation on Friday in Whitfield County after pleading guilty to three felony counts of theft by deception and three misdemeanor counts of theft by deception for accepting gifts and money in 2005 after telling friends and acquaintances she had cancer. Prosecutors said she did not have the disease.

    Average punishment for bank robbery where the money is recovered is 5-7 years in a federal penitentiary, plus a healthy fine and very lengthy parole. Also, contrary to popular belief the average take from bank robberies really isn't all that much. I wouldn't be surprised to learn this AH milked more cash out of these people than this and had already blown every penny.

    This sort of crap makes people less likely to help those who rightously need assistance. IMHO, this low-life should've got jail time, too.

    convicted of 3 felonies? She should be in prison for life... the heck with probation.
