Can anyone tell me the best way to remove cosmoleene from a very old stock on a turkish rifle in which it has or seems to have been saturated.I would like to referb stock to original and don't want to damage it at all.Thanks in addvance W.W.

    Not doing a ad for them or anything, but Brownells has what you need. It's called whiting, and they sell 1 lb. containers for $4.11 plus S&H. Have never used it, but if Brownells sells it, I would bet my life on it. Part # is 083-032-100. Phone # is (641) 623-4000, and www.brownells.com. While you're at it, ask for their catalog. It's a hoot!

    If you are doing the stock, I have used Clean-Rite Purple Power with great result, but you have to use heat to draw out the comso. As for the metal parts I used Purple Power and brake cleaner also use very hot water. Must oil right after the brake cleaner. I just got down my first Swedish Mauser and I had to clean the cleaning rod hole, which I use heat and the parts&tool cleaner which is under high pressure. These tip work great but take you time.Spec.4
