Anyone had any luck fishing lately

I had a great day on Friday. I got out of the office a little early and stopped off by one of the lakes I pass on my way to and from work.
Perfect day, overcast, warm and slight wind.

In just under 2 hours I caught 13 crappies, 6 bass, 5 yellow bass and a walleye. Nothing big, but alot of action in a short period of time.

Sounds like you used the red lures, with the little fuse, sticking out the end!! lol!!

Best luck in the future, no matter what you use.

A college/friend and I floated about 3 miles of the Suwanee River on Friday. No luck at all with beetle spins, very small plugs such as the Repala, and several others.

Finally, we broke out the 3 weight custom rods made for us by a person retired from Game & Fish
sorry NOW the Conservation Commission. Using cricket and black-ant immatations we very quickly boated a number of pan-fish (bream & "stump-nockers"). Nothing to write home to Moma about but at least we were NOT skunked.

    Best Regards To All

Me and a friend went last weekend and caught 8 wipers (cross between a striper and a white bass) they were all about 19 inches and weighed about 3 lbs each. Want to go after the muskies here. They should be about 60 inches + now.

I'm headed for the Intercoastal right now (10 miles from home).
Last time I was there I caught a Hammerhead Shark from the Shore.

Went out last Thursday and nailed 5 Albacore and then 3 more Yellowtail at a kelp patty on the way in. Will be going back out on a 1 1/2 day trip next Sunday. I love San Diego, it just sucks that it's part of Kalifornia.

Catching plenty of cats and sheephead, the wallies are hiding pretty good, here in S.W. Michigan.

I caught two croakers that were no bigger than a Goldfish you would put in a One Gallon Fish Bowl. One of them wasn't even Hooked, the bait was so big it was caught in his throat, I just eased the Hook and Bait right out of it's Throat.

Went after King Salmon yesterday, but looks like they still are not here in any numbers yet. Will try again next weekend.

Father went out today on Lake Huron after kings.
I hear 2 guys boated 6 kings and 2 steelhead. Not bad for the first trip out this summer. Oh, several "grease balls," thems lake trout to anybody not from around here.

not a bit of luck....fished south platte river last weekend, not a single bite, this weekend fished 11 mile canyon west of colorado springs...not a thing....there were fish but a number of rather rude fly fishermen kept following us and stomping around the river scaring everything off...some people need a good dose of manners applied to em..

Did someone say fishing? I have been catching crappie, as well as other small fish (bass, walleye, bluegill) the last 3 weeekends on minnows and jigs. Did not make it out this past weekend. I think the spawn is over or on the downhill side. Will have to change tactics next weekend.

Fishing has been good on our farm pond (3.5 acres). Channel cat and bass. A neighbor caught a 60 lb. Flathead in the Middle Fork of the Salt River above Mark Twain lake. 5 inch perch on a bank pole was the bait. The limb-line and bank pole folks have been doing real well at night the last week or two.

Hit the chesapeake bay this weekend, caught about 3-4 dozen hardheads (croakers), a white perch, and FINALLY a rockfish (striped bass). And to top it all off, I STILL have 15 softcrabs left for next weekend.

A great rifle with a junk scope,....is junk.

Been too damn busy this week to make it out. Had a water heater go bad and then the Red Wings were playing (okay, that part was GREAT). My dad says the panfish are beginning to spawn heavily in the inland lakes of S.E. Michigan and the perch, walleye and crappie have been moving in the Tawas Bay.

Rickstir, did you say 60lb. flathead? Holy mackeral, I mean catfish!
