Good concealment holster for a Glock?

Now that I've made my decision to purchase my first Glock (27) for concealed carry, I guess I need to pick a holster to go with it. Any suggestions?

Anyone have any experience (good or bad) with Fobus holsters?

Fobus has a pretty good reputation but you might want to look here. http://order.tupperware.com/pls/htprod_www/home I expect they are Glock specialists

Or you could do a search for "boat anchors" and get yourself an old fashioned all-metal 40 oz. clunker. Polymers are here to stay boys, they're everywhere from black rifles to raceguns to the new Land Warrior technology. Deal with it.

But seriously folks, There are a lot of good concealment holsters for the shorter barreled Glocks. If you are wearing under any type of jacket, even a bomber style or windbreaker, you can get a high-ride belt holster from Galco, DeSantis, Aker, G&G, Mitch Rosen, Dillon, or any number of makers. Galco makes good leather shoulder holsters for the Glock. G&G (Gould & Goodrich) makes a good small-of-the-back holster for the 26/27. The Fobus is the current rage. It's inexpensive and solidly built. The gun "clicks" into place and draws fairly easily with practice. I would get the roto model if I were you for maximum flexibility in modes of carry. I would stay away from inside-the-pants holsters, because they can be uncomfortable against the hipbone, as can be the behind-the-back variety against the spine. In the summer, try a camera bag, fanny pack, or under-the-shirt model, but expect a slightly slower draw that needs both hands to execute.

Personally, I like leather holsters, but expect a faster draw from a "lined" one than an unlined one.

    Belly Band.

Same band going on three years, has hosted a Smith&Wesson 642, Wilson KZ-45 and currently a Glock 27.

Mrs. Mudge has a Glock 30. Carries it in a DeSantis Speed Scabbard.
Mines a custom made job so I can carry on my hip or IWB SOB.
Tried a friends Fobus (or, as I call it, *) didn't care for it.

Now that summer's here I always have to hunt up the belly band, the fanny pack, and the other innocent looking pouch belts I've collected that have maybe a water bottle in addition to a pouch for "miscellaneous." I used to wear the big leather fanny packs with the velcro, but everybody got to "reading" those as gun packs. Now I pick stuff that looks nondescript. But without a jacket, options have to become more creative. Luckily, my G27 WILL fit in a jeans front pocket. Prints a bit, but nothing serious. A little slower to draw, but it's nice to drop it in there for a quick dog walk. I also take pepper spray in case of the odd nuisance dog running loose. My dog's been bit twice and $250 is enough spent on fixing other dogs' problems.

I am a detective and currently carry a G27 for duty use. I carry the Galco Ankle Glove holster most of the time. It is comfortable and the draw is easy to adapt to. You can get one for about $50.

Hmm. Good point. I haven't been into ankle holsters, but in the hot summer when carry options are severely limited, an ankle rig under light summer slacks would be a good option for some purposes. Thanks.

I'm partial to Galco holsters and have several different styles for my Glocks. I really like the Galco SOB (small of the back) for my Glock 26 but it's very uncomfortable for driving if you leave the pistol in it.. I just pop it out of the holster when behind the wheel and the holster collapses enough so it's not a problem. Also the Galco Avenger is a real nice high-ride, strong-side holster for the mini Glocks.

I carry my G26 in a fobus paddle holster. The draw is quick and after a while you don't even feel the gun being there. The gun snaps in securely and wont work its way loose. it takes a quick tug to release it from the holster and the paddle lets you take it off and put it on without having to undo your belt.

They are pretty inexpensive and they are very well built in my opinion. like an old friend used to tell me...it'll cost you about $20 to find out if it works for you or not.

Uncle Mike's IWB is the most comfortable for me (and inexpensive). But, it is awkward when you have to tuck in a shirt (for work, or whatever).

I have a Galco leather IWB that allows me to tuck in my shirt, very nice but a little bulky.

Finally, I have a Kydex holster by Sidearmor. Nice fit but I don't like the belt hook.
