FANTASTIC! Keep your lungs healthy. My grandfather and father all died from lung cancer as a direct result of smoking all their lives.

Congrats ameriskin, I stopped smoking slightly over 2 years ago, and I still can't believe how great I feel. Now, take it a step further, when you lay down for bed, take 5 VERY DEEP breaths, holding them for a second and releasing them, my MD said its the best thing you can do, helps repair the damage, and cleans toxins out of your lungs too. -Ralph

Ameriskin, Great going. Now for the times you may feel like smoking again and for all those still smoking here is something to think about. I am an ex-smoker but I quit to late. I am on supplemental oxygen 24/7 and awaiting a lung transplant. Now try this. Take a deep breath and only exhale halfway then inhale again and keep breathing that way. That is how it feels to have emphysema. You will be extremely happy you quit. GOOD LUCK

still goin strong, my damn jaw hurts from eating a pound of jaw breakers, lol. i'd rather have a sore jaw than tumors. i've lost alot of family to cancer, and i don't wanna be on that bandwagon. thanks for the support everyone, and congrats to the rest of you who have been lucky enough to save your lives. i tried the emph breathing exercise, sucks! i like breathing, i'm gonna keep doin it til i die, lol. cody

A big congrats to you!!!! I love smoking and even after years of not smoking i still crave it. So yeah i've gone back to it several times. I was working a stressful job and started smoking again after not smoking for 20 years. The breathing sugestions given above do really work, but i do like smoking and wish it wasn't so bad for your health. I have heard that pure tobacco if smoked on occasion isn't bad. I guess its all the additives and pesticides in the tobacco and in the paper that makes it really bad for you.

    Congratulations,
You just did yourself the biggest favor that anyone could have done for you. Buy plenty of life savers, and get addicted to them.
    Good luck.

Good for you, and keep up the good work. You going to feel better with each days passing. I've never smoked but friends that have quit tell me that it's wonderful to be able to really taste food again, and how much their smell improved. When I say smell I don't mean they were stinky, but as one friend told me it was the first time he could smell fresh cut grass in 20 years after 45 years of smoking.

Bullelk -Your lifesaver theory is alright for some . I asked my cousin how she gave up smoking . She said that everytime she felt like a cigarette , she sucked on a lifesaver . My sister replied "Its OK for you , you live near the beach !!
