    Hi all, I'm back from Vacation! Had fun.Anyway, my wife and I are catching up on all the activities at our favorite online communities. First thing I did after getting home was logon!On a board that my wife frequents some of the members are tossing around the idea that guns are bad and one person went on to say that they should be banned and only cops should have guns. I am looking for that quote by Hitler that said something like:"We have eliminated private ownership of guns and given them to the military for safety", or something like that. He said it in 1939, I think, and it would be a perfect quote to argue the ignorant person's post.Can anyone help me here? I need this ASAP!!Thanks,G36

    Regarding "RugerNiner's" link: one needs to remember that the bulk of the Jews killed in the concentration camps were not German.The Nazi's had firearm confiscation policies in occupied territories--usually involving immediate execution for anyone caught with arms.The author of that piece is apparently unaware of the uprisings the Jews did make in some situations. There were some uprisings in the ghettos the Jews had been forced into. Unfortuately, resistance against a better armed foe was not successful; they were effective with small arms, but were crushed when armor was used against them.(Sort-of like the Branch Davidians...you can't kill a tank with a rifle.)

    Thanks for all the help. I didn't use the quote after all, I'm glad I didn't now! I just want to use logic, facts and historically relevant information when arguing against gun control. I ended up just telling my wife to direct their attention to http://www.guntruths.com. I figured that site would be better prepared and more useful than me trying to provide facts.I'm hoping that because several hundred people read the board my wife is on, maybe I can help swing the support of some fence-sitters, or even change the mind of some anti-gun folks who've been brainwashed!Thanks again,G36
