Hastert Deserts His Post

Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert has deserted his post! He has recessed the HR, as he put it for the weekend (Wed to Tues) in order to have their offices checked for anthrax. This, in spite of the fact that no threat, letter or indication of anthrax has been received by the house! The senate, on the other hand where 31 employees where exposed to anthrax will remain in session. The worst part of this is that he is third in line for the presidency! If he turns and runs from no threat, what would he do if one were actually received? He is falling right into the hands of whatever terrorists are behind these attacks. I call him a disgrace to the USA and have sent my feeling to his office via email so that he can open it without worry!Ask yourself, can you just go home now from your business and tell them you will return Tuesday. I'll bet you'll have no job to return to!If you agree with me that he has acted in a cowardly fashion, do as I did,and write him telling him so. But please use email so he can be safe, while the rest of us are on our own. What a joke! No wonder people rank politicians below used car salesmen!

No, no, no. The longer the House is in recess the longer our freedoms are not in danger. Send your letters to your representatives encouraging them to stay at home in their bunkers. Long live freedom!

I think they should recess for at least a few months.

Ahhhh, how did that Danial Webster quote go? Something like "...and the men work quietly in the fields, while at home, their wives weep. For the Congress is in session, and no man's property is safe."
I may disagree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.--Voltare

Yeah, must be nice. I sure would like to take some time off (while still being paid)....I guess the ordinary man doesn't mean as much as the elite in Washington.Did anyone consider why the lawmakers are able to go home while our USPS workers are STILL ON THE JOB?
