Choose one shotgun...FOREVER!

I know it's been beat to death, but I'm bored. If you could only own ONE shotgun for the rest of your life, what would it be and why? We're talking about ONE shotgun. No add-on units like caliber convertions, multi-barrel systems, or anything else. ONE stock shotgun for the rest of your days. Let the fun begin!

I'd go for the Remmington 870 in 12 gauge.1. The 12 gauge round is THE multi-purpose shotgun round. 2. The 870 takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'.3. I like semi-auto shotguns, but I'll have to take the pump for reliability.4. 12 gauge ammo can be cached in bulk without breaking the bank.

Since I don't hunt I'll take my 500 series Mossberg. Those 9 shots are hard to beat.

Evil, your question isn't fair....that's like a starved homeless person going thru a buffet line and only being allowed to put one item on your plate........maybe a high grade A-5 Browning...no, no, wait....an original NIB Model 12 high grade....no, a Krieghoff over and under....damn, I hate these kinds of choices.....it's like asking which of your children you like the best.....

Have to go with my Mossberg 500: 9 shot, folding stock, ect. ... ugly but totally reliable, low maintinance.

Evil....I mean Dr. Demento this one was easier after the first two choices. Not that it would really be my first choice BUT I had to figure a away to get a .22LR into the equation so:Savage 24 in 20/.22LRReason: It's a shotgun, you pull the trigger it kills the bird(You just don't get to eat a lot of duck and goose unless you use the .22LR barrel), somewhat under powered, very portable, very good ammo availability for 20 gauge barrel, truly awesome ammo availability for .22LR, great weapon with which to begin shooting training for youngsters. BeachP.S. Evil if you ever do this again we are ALL coming after you!!!

Mossberg 500 with three barrels: 18.5 inch (home defense), rifled slug barrel, and 26 inch vent rib target barrel. I don't have the slug barrel, yet..

Are you guys nuts!!! You gotta go with the Benelli Super Black Eagle. Reason? It will fire 2 3/4, 3 or 3 1/2 inch shells & comes with 5 different chokes. I don't think there is any shotgun as versitile or dependable (and expensive). The perfect semi-auto!! RG[This message has been edited by rg666 (edited 10-03-2001).]

Street Sweeper, 12 shot box (round mag) fold over stock. I would love to have one of these, but my state banned years ago. Pull out one of these babies and take care of business. I like my Mossberg 500 persuader second with two barrels with it,one for hunting and one for security. [This message has been edited by jltrent (edited 10-03-2001).]
