If they want to starve-then let them starve!

GUANTANAMO BAY, Cuba (CNN) -- Slightly less than one-third of the Afghan war detainees held at a U.S. military base in Cuba refused breakfast Saturday, part of a hunger strike that began on a smaller scale Wednesday. The hunger strike, which has involved a varying number of detainees over the past few days, began as a protest over the treatment of one prisoner whose turban was taken. A U.S. military official said some of the detainees now seem interested in media coverage of their situation. Officials at Camp X-Ray, the prison camp set up at the Guantanamo Bay naval base, forced six hunger striking detainees to take intravenous liquids after determining the men were growing dangerously dehydrated. Eighty-five of the 300 inmates refused breakfast Saturday; 75 did not eat lunch and dinner Friday; 194 detainees refused lunch Thursday. A handful of prisoners began the hunger strike Wednesday.
Never ask why but only the value of.

Sept 13th (at the latest) we should have turned on the TV and seen pictures from space of a void where Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Iraq and Iran used to be!!!!! That's the only way you're going to fight the terroists, wipe them off the face of the earth. Kill them all and let their god sort em out!!!!!

Let 'em starve! They want to kill themselves, all the better . . . save the US taxpayers the expense of taking care of them. Wasted enough money giving them any better than they would have given our people if the tables would have been turned, much less hauling their sorry butts to Cuba.

Walt, I agree w/ everything you say except that they knew what to expect. Those 'holes expected us to fight on their terms and walk into ambushes the way the Soviets did. Comes from believing their own propaganda. If they hadn't banned TV, they could have seen what happened to Iraq and settled their estates before heading off to fight.

I agree except intravenous feeding was the United States third mistake. Second one was to bring them to Cuba. And #1 was letting them LIVE.

Don't tell me that the liberal * press hasn't gotten ahold of this yet and turned it around on us. I can see it already...."The Big Bad Bullies, the United States of America, has left it's Poor, Unfourtunate, Misguided Enemy Only one Choice....To Starve", and it'll probably come out on the front page. Do you mean to tell me that Jane Fonda hasn't jumped on the bandwagon with her slimeball husband?

i cannot believe these stone-age barbarians came up with the idea of a hunger strike all by themselves. you can probably thank some liberal do-gooder for that idea.these boys(ill bet)have an instinct for hand to mouth & who eats the fastest gets the mostest.

Jane Hanoi Fonda and Ted Turner went their separate ways. Each could no longer stand the other, both had a good point. The Geneva Convention says we have to provide nutritious food, it doesn't say they have to eat it. I don't sense much sympathy from people in the US yet, although I agree there are enough mush-brains to make that a possibility.

Last time I looked these idiots were prisoners not country club guests. Their welfare means very little. They should expect to be treated as they do each other over in Afganistan. Deposit one bullet behind each ear after interogation. Maybe we can set up a counter protest with PETA or someone like that. After all...those sharks in Guantanamo Bay have to eat too.

There'd be a lot more pork on the menu from now on if I had a say in the matter. Those who refused the offerings would have every right to do so, but there wouldn't be an alternate menu. Water would be clean and plentiful... As would bathing facilities and soap. Drinking the water would be optional. Bathing would not! No combs, no razors, no tools of any sort that might cause harm to those guarding these animals. Turbans??? Not a problem! After a time the boys will be able to braid their hair into fine turbans. For all I care they can make sweaters from the excess. Medical treatment would be on par with that provided to our own military. Refusal of treatment for any reason would always be a personal decision that I'd gladly accept.Burial would be respectful, but I'd feel no more obligation to these creatures than I would to a rabid *. Fellow Taliban would have an option to dig the graves for their departed fellows, or I'd use the backhoe of my choice.Services for the departed would be encouraged... Each from his own cell. Never as a group. Allah would be welcome on site at any time, but I wouldn't really expect him in person.Recreation... Each Taliban would be provided the opportunity to recreate. From what I understand there are a great many holes in Cuba that need moving. No chains, no cuffs, just four towers with machine guns staffed by relatives and friends of those lost on 9/11. Oh... No work, no eats!Escapees (an unlikley event) would be encouraged to cross the minefields and enter the great Workers Paradise of Cuba. After a day or so there Guantanimo will look pretty good!Cruel you say??? Nothing compared to what these animals did to their own people and nothing compared to 9/11.Retribution? Not in the least! Dangerous things need to be treated with a certain respect. It's not considered good form to smoke while pumping gasoline. Radioactive substances are poor choices for jewelery. Railroad tracks aren't a good place to take a nap. Using oneself for crocidile bait is a short-lived hobby as a rule. Treating Taliban with anything less than the utmost caution is stupid.

Petting those worthless pieces of dung will only act as encouragement to all their, brethen to repeat terroist attacks against innocents. they gave up any rights to decent treatment when they hit the towers. Burn them all and you won't have any more surprises, or oh-ohs. the few that out of ignorance espouse the thoughts of good muslims or islamics will just have to suffer the results of a far more peaceful world.
