"The Mexico City Attorney General's Office (PGJDF) is honing in on illegal gun distribution centers, capital authorities announced this week.'Specifically, we're talking about guns being sold in the Cuauhtemoc, Gustavo A. Madero and Iztapalapa districts,' Damian Canales Mena, head of the city's investigative police, told the local press. However, city police are limited in their abilities to prosecute arms dealers, since the possession of illegal weapons is a federal offense. Canales said the PGJDF is working with the Federal Attorney General's Office (PGR) to find a way to put arms dealers behind bars." full story http://www.thenewsmexico.com/noticia.asp?id=31167
