In an exclusive interview as part of NewsMax's Presidential Briefing series, Adm. Thomas Moorer and Gen. Jack Singlaub reveal several disturbing concerns about a major escalation in the months ahead. Their interview, "America on the Brink of Global War," is part of NewsMax's Presidential Briefing series. Gen. Singlaub said he has no doubt that bin Laden and several terrorist networks have been seeking to acquire nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons."I don't think there is any question that is true," he said. Singlaub believes that there are strong indications the terrorists have acquired such weapons, and were investigating possible delivery systems before Sept. 11. He thinks a biological or chemical attack would cause "great damage" to an American city.Moorer concurs about America's vulnerability."I think we are nothing but a picked chicken," he said. The former chairman of the Joint Chiefs said the U.S. government has been negligent in not organizing civil defense programs, utilizing local fire and police, to handle any threat -- including nuclear, biological or chemical weapons. When will such an attack takes place?"I think that as soon as they feel they have the conditions that they have been looking for or are preparing for, they will attack," Gen. Singlaub said. Terrorist groups linked to bin Laden have reportedly been experimenting with anthrax - described as the poor man's nuclear bomb. A small amount of anthrax costing less than $500 could kill as many people as from a nuclear blast.Bin laden's groups has also been seeking to acquire suitcase nuclear bombs from Russia, according to a report in the Washington Times. Both veteran commanders also fear the U.S. may have to introduce weapons of mass destruction in places like Korea or with Iraq, if these countries sought to take advantage of America's vulnerability.Adm. Moorer served as chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the nation's highest-ranking military official, and helped bring the Vietnam War to an end. Gen. Singlaub is former chief of staff for U.S. forces in South Korea. In addition to serving as a field commander, he was also assigned to the CIA and is an expert on unconventional warfare. Moorer and Singlaub have held combat command positions in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. To get your copy of "America on the Brink of Global War" - CLICK HERE http://www.newsmax.com/war
