Who snopes to see if a story is true or not. is there a snopes patrol that comes around and ask ???? about something said or done.

    Example,
I was at the checkout the other day and this woman came up and gave me $50,000 just for having a red shirt on.

is the snope patrol coming now to check the story out or will it just be listed as not proven.[?]

If something tragic were to happen here in the USA, say a Mass invasion, who the heck is here to fight it off???? Our armed forces are spread all over the Globe,

Our non-combat trained Police agencies will not be of much help,

Our "National Guard" is not well trained, to handle a large scale attack.

There are 80 million Gun Owners in this country, who in actuality have their hands tied by the government, also not trained in combat,

Looks like if it were to happen without notice, we will be in for one hell of a fight...

This is just a supposition: WHAT IF

if everyone knew Remington started making the 1100 again a few years ago. By reading some of the posts it seems everyone is not aware of that fact. Look at the wood on some of the target guns! The gold on the receiver don't hurt either. Beautiful!

I was just wondering if anyone else can remember during the "COLD WAR" period the claim of protection for this country by the armed forces. Do you remember that we were not to worry because jets could be scrambled in less than 15 minutes to protect us from any and all harm?I'm not blaming ANYONE! for recent events. But were we really protected back then, or did we just feel good because we believed our country and its leaders? Could an air strike against the USA really have been taken care of or were we more or less just fooling ourselves so as to not cause worry or panic? It just doesn't add up time wise that of the two flights of fighter jets scrambled during the crisis that neither flight was able to reach destination before terrorist strikes. With jet technology advances today, I guess that 30 years ago we must have been fooling ourselves.

If you put three poles up and a tarp around the outside to make an Indian tepee will it leak in the middle where the three poles are tied together at the top sticking out? When it rains.

I am sure that right now today we can get planes anywhere in the US in 15 mintues.Cutbacks in the military budget during the Clinton administration and a general lack of preparedness are to blame. We have closed a great many military bases so the planes have to fly farther. Cutbacks also mean that flight personnel were not standing by ready to be airborne. One account I read stated that a pair of fighters were 70 miles from the WTC when the second plane crashed into it. It appears that the air traffic controllers took their time about alerting the military even when the planes had been off course for a long time. Undoubtably the air traffic controllers had no idea about what was going to happen.Even if we had jet fighters in the air and tailing the planes that were off course it is unlikely that the airliners would have been shot down. Pilots have been trained to comply with hijacker demands, get the plane on the ground, then negotiate. No one expected commercial airliners to be used as flying bombs.Even after the first plane hit the tower very few suspected that the US was under attack. I cannot imagine the order to shoot down a commercial airliner coming from anyone but the president; at least up until Tuesday September 11. And the president was probably not informed until after the second plane hit.

NORAD has admitted that in the case of an outside threat to our shores our Fighters can be scrambled in time to prevent attack. However they did say that they were not prepared for a strike from within, before 9-11 we had 8 locations in the USA where planes can be scrambled now there are 26.While they did not get to the planes that crashed into NY they did in fact have fighters in place to shoot down the plane that crashed in Pennsylvania as well as the Pentagon. Also the rules of engagement did not allow NORAD Generals to make the call to shoot down an American Airliner, before 9-11 that order could only come from the President.Unfortunately for the Pentagon victims the order came too late and fortunately for Flight 93 the passengers took back their plane. Now NORAD has full authority to make the call in a shoot,no shoot situation with a US airliner as sanctioned by the President,Josey.
