Congress fears the 'Gun Show Loophole'

With all the force of his left-leaning spirit, John McCain is pushing harder for his, and Joe Lieberman's attack against lawful gun ownership and your right to dispose of your personal property as you see fit.

There are somewhere around 4500 gun shows per year in the United States and the McCain/Lieberman bill will require criminal background checks for all firearm purchases at these shows. What scares me the most is that there will probably be a clause buried in the bill, which will require ALL firearm sales, even from your home, to undergo these same requirements. If it's not in there, you can expect it to follow closely behind the "Gun Show Loophole" bill.

We, as lawful gun owners and free citizens of America, cannot sit still for this attack against our rights. These extremists in Congress will pass any legislation they can get away with presumably for the purpose of protecting us from ourselves. My question is, who is protecting us from these anti-American politicians?

We aren't living up to our obligations as citizens if we allow this to happen. If this bill passes it will be one more nail in the Constitutional coffin - and it will be our own lack of action and resolve if we let it happen.

The other criminals in Congress are so afraid of this legislation that they are trying convince McCain to table the issue until after the elections. Well what do you know, they even know that it's wrong and don't want it to mess up their chances of re-election. It is indeed sad that Congress is so afraid of themselves that they can't let their own votes be a guide for the voters.

I have made calls to the offices of John McCain, and his staffers demonstrate the same degree of arrogance as McCain when you disagree with his position. They don't even have the courtesy to allow a constituent to have an opinion other than McCain's. We have even been told by a staffer in the McCain Arizona office that full-autos are sold illegally under the table at all gun shows. He knows this because he has seen it happen. Yeah, right! If he wants to believe that lie, I don't care. Just don't push that crap on others that might not know better.

McCain and the rest of government exist as servants of the people and their power is limited by the Constitution. It doesn't matter that career politicians have forgotten this. My gripe is that WE have forgotten it! McCain and his ilk don't elect themselves, you know!

We have allowed the government to slip out of their Constitutional restraints and have become voracious predators of freedom and liberty in their effort to enslave us.

I suggest that each reader call their Senators office and demand that the "Gun Show Loophole" bill be brought for a vote. Tell your Senator that you are aware of their ruse and if they vote for this unconstitutional bill they will have the full force of the grassroots gun owners to answer to on Election Day in November.

I am not going to provide a link, or a phone number for the Senate offices. If you don't know how to find it yourself, maybe that's why we are in this mess!

Residents of the District of "Criminals" fear an informed voter more than anything else. Arm yourselves with the facts and then make that call. Don't sit back and let this happen, voice your opinion NOW! It's time to take back our country!
