On July 22, 2002, the Reverend Jesse Jackson equated police officers accused of brutality with terrorists, referring to police as the "militia."
"There is a pattern of African Americans being beaten by the militia and killed by the militia," Mr. Jackson said in an interview with the Washington Times. "These are all acts of terror, and we really need to get a definition of terrorism. Unarmed citizens being beaten and killed by the militia is an act of terrorism."

No, Reverend Jackson, we need a definition of the word militia.
As we who are lovers of freedom and the 2nd Amendment know, the militia is "the whole people" [George Mason]. And I don't believe that I need to go on and on about how the 2nd Amendment is correctly defined [See Emerson ruling http://www.calnra.org/emerson_ruling.html ]
But let's parse the Rev. Jackson's position for a moment:
If the police possess guns, and are both terrorists and the militia, then their possession of arms is totally legal and sanctioned by the Constitution.
Further, the "acts of terror" committed against the "unarmed citizens" is completely legal, since by definition, citizens should never be armed. Armed citizens would be a criminal act (only militias can have arms, citizens cannot).
Reverend Jackson's and the NAACP's claim is that the 2nd Amendment empowers only militias to bear arms-which time and again they have upheld as NOT an individual right. So I ask, what is he complaining about?
It seems to me the natural outcome to citizens being criminalized by simply owning arms, citizens criminalized by using arms in defense of self, citizens criminalized by exercising the use of arms against legal acts of brutality, would be exactly what Reverend Jackson has been advocating all along. But when the brutality comes along, he makes an even more ridiculous proclamation that links police possession of guns with terror.
Okay. Enough parsing.
The fact is Reverend Jackson is a racist, a socialist and a hater of free armed people. Especially, a hater of free, armed, independent, black American people.
He would rather all people be slaves to a state empowered by him.
Is there police brutality in America today? Yes. Should it be stopped? Yes. Should the guilty individual police officers be prosecuted? Yes.
But he is not interested nor does he care about any of it. His job and purpose in life is to create racist-socialist division so that he can profit from it. By classifying all police as part of the racist-militia and getting his followers to believe that it is all a conspiracy empowered by the Constitution to keep the black man down, he gains more political power.
He is one of the few men in the world that the IRS fears.
